the saddest performances youve seen

Post by margaret thatcher »

omar figueroa was once an unbeaten champ with wins over robert guerrero, john molina, ricky burns, etc.

but the other day, he was absolutely shot to beats, was terribly battered, and looked totally inept vs the decent but not particularly impressive abel ramos

what are the performances that , more than others, were pathetic to watch because of how far someone had fallen?

Just off the top of my head Bruno v Tyson 2

Bruno entered the ring like John Coffee on death row. And his performance was dire for a world champion and what it took to get there.

Give you a two'fer, Gamaliel Diaz vs Takahiro Ao. Both guys were shot to pieces. Neither had any urgency, neither had a second gear, neither had any speed, accuracy or anything. This was two world champions who just... Didn't have anything.

Ao wisely retired after the bout Diaz fought once more, got smashed and has now seemingly hung them up.

A stinking fight between two shadows of once decent fighters

I was at that fight and had a really bad feeling about it. I even backed Ricky to lose. It really was sad compared to his big nights at the arena. I had a tear in my eye when I collected my winnings.

Should have done a 6 rounder.. wait when did it end? Was it a 10 rounder?

Double edged sword. Was sad to see Haye like that and also to see Bellew acting like he’d just beat Muhammad Ali.
Hmm, Bellew was bound to go on about something, win-lose-draw.
But yes, very sad to see the Haymaker shot to sh*t. The English can be a bit tough on Haye ( toe-gate etc) but he was a legit champ at cruiser, and a contender at HW when it was tough to get a belt.
