At least Billy has got there early and prepared properly, like Tyson does and McCallum used to fly out to Kronk early back in the day.

I think Saunders looks bang up for this which is promising, still dont think it'll be enough to beat Canelo though, i think we've seen the best of Saunders and that was down at Middleweight and Canelo is in his pomp, cant read too much into their last fights, both outclassed their opponents Saunders just had to settle for points

We cant read into the Trout/Lara fights as a guide for Saunders, they were years ago and Canelo is much improved, Saunders movement might make him slippery for Canelo to pin down but i still think Canelo will control Saunders and land the meaningful punches, even if Saunders can land here and there, his style won't cut it in the US, might be a snoozer but it'll be Alvarez who wins wide

Never understand people giving boxers props for preparing properly and/or turning up in shape

Understandably, the real money for Billy is in the rematch. So yes he is as motivated as he ever will be to get the win.

Billy strikes me has the sort of guy , who money is'nt the real motivator ,, think he probably has enough to suit his lifestyle anyway ... Don't think you'll see BJS buying a house in Dubai , giving a barbie doll wife , unlimited credit card ,,, This fight though , course he wants a reasonable slice of the pie , but i think its just a fight he really wants to win and is totally motivated , pinnacle of his whole life since he first laced on gloves has a kid .

Thats why i'm not writing him off completly , too many boxers and trainers in the know , have said how good he can be when switched on ,, and has good has Canelo is , I'm not convinced its such a great resume , he certainly looked shaky when he fought good boxers WITHOUT a age , weight , or drug advantage

Interesting. Yes there are a few things that niggle me about Canelo. The Mexican beef, and in my mind at least, 3 decisions that were off.
I've never been a fan really, the only time I've actually backed him was against Floyd.
I give Billy a chance of going the distance, a chance of winning enough rounds, and almost zero chance of winning a decision.

Elwin Soto defending his WBO Light Flyweight title against Katsunari Takayama on the undercard, i haven't seen either but remember Takayama from a few year ago, he's won the World Strawweight title about 3 times, has had 1 fight since 2016, i dont recognize anyone on Soto's record but i assume Eddie signed him to make the Alvarado/Kyoguchi unifications

Billy has a good chin and Canelo generally doesn't stop the better fighters. Even at Welterweight. Somehow everyone has him down as a Valero now.

I'm trying to think if any other fighter in the past has come off a string of poor performances to beat a top five pound for pound ?
Good point, me neither. But I think he'll rise to the occasion. Again, he won't win.
To have any chance he'll have to perform way above anything he's ever done in his whole career, which is possible I suppose, how much are Americans being charged to watch it ?

And I guess thats what people seem to be overlooking; BJS has never shown in any of his previous fights that he has got what it takes to run Canelo close - let alone win. Then add to the fact that BJS is probably fighting a weight up from what would be his ideal; it could be argued based on his last few fights he is on the slide ... and Canelo is prob as good as he gets about now.

Its about levels. Liam Williams was shown to be that level or two below Andrade last week, but showed his fighting heart to still battle on and make it a tough and entertaining fight.
I just cant see BJS showing that grit once he starts finding it mission impossible.

Canelo to outbox and hurt Saunders from early on.

Saunders to then quit on his stool blaming a dodgy shoulder or hurt hand mid-late rounds.

That's how i see it,he then avoids the ko and can always say he would have won if he hadn't hurt his elbow or shoulder

Think the only time ive seem Saunders hurt was against Isufi , he got rocked pretty bad, as for his stamina, if he's not ready for 12 hard rounds, Canelo won't let him hear final bell

It’s tough - his wife and kids have thrown him out so he sleeps in Eddie’s spare room. Eddie let’s him stay there rent free aslong as he takes the dog out for a walk once a day and does some social for his shows.

Neither can I. I can see him getting on his bike and completely stinking the joint out.
Expect the crowd to start booing by round 3, fights erupting in the stands by round 6, and the stadium in chaos by round 8.
This of course will be more entertaining than what is happening in the ring.

But if Tony is picking up after Eddie's dog, who is picking up after Tony :maybe:
