I havn't seen Kurbanov fight before but I see from his record he was dropped on way to a decision against Horvath who was toyed with by a green Eubank jr and also stopped by ten fight Williams and Buglioni, is there anything to look into there or just a bad performance?
KD was round 11.. watch it. And watch the highlights at the end of the round. Was not a KD.
Although the 2 comments in that video say Harvath should have won.

Yeah he falls over his lead leg, looks uncharacterisically wild and ungainly for a Russian from what I can see though, Smith certainly not out of his depth from the admittedly little evidence I've seen

hes better than that suggests but i still dont rate him too highly. rather basic and i think euro level at absolute tops. liam in with a very good shout here if he's up for it
far more experienced and prob a bit underrated, people got more excited about williams and eggy, but liam beat williams x2 and absolutely pounded sam, who then gave cheese a very tough fight
Record suggests he doesn't carry top level power either?

Half his wins are stoppages. But he does knock them down..
I saw on Twitter Eddie bought it for DAZN and asked the promoter to move it to the Friday, they agreed, then Eddie pulled out. Something very not right with him and the Smith lads if that's true.

Yeh I just read this.. it was never gonna clash with Canelo-BJS.. might end up on FITE.

It wouldn’t have clashed with Canelo/BJS - would have been a nice lead in for it!

Who posted about it? I haven’t come across it yet.

There definitely appears to be something going on with MTK and TV Broadcasters.
How else to explain Josh Taylor's fight not being nailed down and promoted?
It shows how poor the promotion of this has been in the U.K. that I’d completely forgotten we’re less than 3 weeks away. It’s crazy that no one has announced a TV deal for it. Josh is managed by MTK but so is Sunny Edwards so I’m not sure that’s the reason it hasn’t been announced yet. Perhaps Bob’s wanting an unreasonable amount of money for it again (like with Brook/Crawford) or wants it on PPV over here.
It’s pretty widely accepted that BT are looking to offload their Sports channels - when that happens businesses tend to heavily reign back on spending so that may be part of it too.

Taylor is solely promoted by Arum. Who is US based.. although he has close relations with Frank and Taylor’s last fight took place in the UK and so broadcast on BT.

UK boxing is going downhill realistically.
In terms of broadcasting in general as well.
We could have a p4p no 1 super middle, We will have the undisputed heavyweight and maybe light welter!

Makes sense as Danny Kinahan could just reach into those deep drug dealing pockets. He's apparently a super nice guy when he's not dealing heroin to kids or having people shot What a legend
Ben Davison kissing Kinahans arse on James English podcast too, the comments are great, Kinahan is just a poor persecuted drug dealer the victim of a media witchhunt, can we have a bullet for English too please?

A lot of English's guests are connected to DK. Herbert, Till, Frampton, Davison Warrington.... Darren Gee even called him out on it saying English had been to Dubai with Herbert to see him.

The gangster worship from his podcast is pathetic, anybody who's ever done a stint gets on there to talk about how big and bad and mad they were, it's for 16 year olds whose favourite films are Scarface and Goodfellas, although it's more Football Factory than Godfather
ESPN picking this up, surely a UK platform will pick this up, as it’s out of Russia and they usually aren’t expensive at all, based on the fact that cheap as chips b**nation always pick them up
Really disappointing we dont know if its on tv a few days before the fight. Its bad for the sport and if folk lile us have no clue the casual fans will be worse!
Smith-Kurbanov will headline a scheduled five-fight card streaming live and exclusively on ESPN+ starting at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT.
Smith (29-2-1, 16 KOs) held the WBO junior middleweight world title from 2015-2016 before losing to Canelo Alvarez via ninth-round stoppage. Smith is riding a three-bout winning streak since his latest world title challenge, a game 2018 decision loss to Jaime Munguia. Kurbanov (21-0, 13 KOs) is a six-year pro who has held the WBO International junior middleweight title twice before. His most notable victory came in November 2019, when he outlasted longtime contender Diego Chaves over 12 rounds. Kurbanov went 3-0 in 2020, including a decision win over Ismail Iliev.
In other streaming action on ESPN+:
Welterweight contender Eduard Skavynskyi (13-0, 7 KOs), who was born in Ukraine and now resides in Yekaterinburg, will fight former world title challenger Joel Julio (39-5, 33 KOs) in a 10-rounder.
In a 10-round showdown for the vacant WBO European junior featherweight belt, Evgenii Liashkov (8-1, 2 KOs) will go for his ninth consecutive victory against Mukhammad Shekhov (8-0-1, 3 KOs), a one-time amateur standout for his native Uzbekistan.
Enriko Gogokhia (12-0, 7 KOs), a former professional kickboxing standout from the nation of Georgia, will look to extend his knockout streak to five against Gustavo David Vittori (24-7-1, 12 KOs) in an eight-round junior welterweight contest.
Southpaw boxer-puncher Zafar Parpiev (9-2, 2 KOs), who is coming off a December knockout win over the previously undefeated Turat Osmonov, will fight Filipino veteran Alphoe Dagayloan (14-4-6, 5 KOs) in an eight-rounder at junior bantamweight.
