MMA fighters trying boxing seems to be more common lately. Who are some boxers who have gone the other way and tried MMA?

Not the top level in boxing but he had some success in mma. Karl Noons 11-2 boxing (2004-2009) is KJ Noons 13-9 mma (2002-2016) though he only had 2 MMA fights going 1-1 prior to starting his boxing career.

Also, Lucas Browne started his MMA career just before his professional boxing career.

Although primarily known for Kickboxing and MMA, Mark Hunt's first boxing match was in 1998, while his first kickboxing in 1999 and first MMA in 2004.

Dulce Garcia (Johnny Gonzalez's wife, and a pro boxer, pro wrestler and mma fighter) - recently got battered in an mma fight

Suspect there's probably thousands of these btw and it's not as rare as we first think

Kazuyuki Fujita submitted Imamu Mayfield at a Pride show in 2003. It was a modified rules bout where if the fight hit the ground it was stood up after 20 seconds. Fuijta won by by standing arm triangle.

Holly Holm is the most successful combatant within both sports. She held world titles in professional boxing in multiple weight classes. She also KOed Ronda Rousey to win the UFC Bantamweight title.

Bob Fitzsimmons faced wrestler Earnest Roeber in 1897 in a mixed martial arts match, 79 years before Ali and Inoki. It's been going on for centuries.

Reportedly, Roeber suffered a fractured cheekbone but was able to get Fitzsimmons down and submitted Bob with an armlock.
