Froch vs Roy Jones Jr (8 x 2min rounds exhibition fight)

Post by Controversial »

Just heard Froch mention this on an interview today, said he's been offered a RJJ fight over 8 rounds and he is looking at the paperwork.

Fair play to them if they can make easy money, but doesn’t interest me in the slighted these exhibitions

None of the exhibitions interest me, but they don't bother me either. It's mostly a bit of fun and a relatively risk free way for these guys to enjoy some of the old glory and fight feeling while making some money

They don't massively interest me, I wouldn't pay but would happily watch. Froch and Calzaghe would be entertaining.

I’m surprised Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank haven’t agreed a 3rd fight exhibition style

Jones said on the Sky podcast last week Calzaghe had been in talks to claim some of that Triller dough.

I remember a few years ago. They were looking at fighting as pro’s..

The sad state of active top fighters not fighting each other has given past champs this stage.
We would not care a toss about exhibition fluff fights if Fury and AJ fought a trilogy in one calendar year ( like HWs used to)and every month a weight class had a unification bout.

Froch isn't the sort of character that can treat a fight as an exhibition.

Didn’t Nigel have another fight lined up quite recently against some ex top level guy who was 40ish but rumours had it that when Nigel had his first proper spar he realised that it wasn’t such a good idea and the fight got cancelled

Yeah that’s him. It was a daft idea from the start.

Why not? Sells tickets. So long as they try to knock each other out I’m happy.

He’s still relatively fit - where as Jones was shot to bits near the end.

You could see a fit Froch walk through him now even in exhibition if he took it serious.
