I think Saunders really doesn’t respect Canelo and isn’t intimidated by him, got a feeling this could be a close fight

Canelo On Ring Size: If Saunders Wants Entire Cowboys Stadium, I’ll Give It To Him

“I don’t care, really,” Alvarez told BS.com before a press conference Thursday at Live! by Loews, a hotel near AT&T Stadium. “I’m pretty sure he’s never fought in a 24-foot ring. But if he wants all of the Cowboys Stadium, OK, I’ll give it to him. It’s OK. Don’t worry.”

“Normally, it’s 20 feet,” Alvarez said. “I don’t think he’s ever fought in a bigger ring than this one. He wanted 24. I really don’t care. I know Saturday I’m gonna go in with the mentality of winning. Like I said, if he wants the entire Cowboys Stadium, he can have it.”

“I don’t believe that,” Alvarez said. “It’s a lot of money. But it is what it is. I’m here to win, and I’m focused on Saturday night.”

He won't knock Canelo out ...and even if he wins every single round he obviously won't get the decision.

Hope to be proved wrong as I'd love it if he somehow does.
If guys like Golovkin and Kovalev couldn’t put a dent in him it’s hard to see Saunders doing so. It’s boxing anything can happen we all know that but the chances of him getting a win a very very slim.

golovkin couldn't put a dent in him and was dominated thoroughly and on the backfoot for 24 rounds!

kovalev! man!!! at times it seemed kov would punch right thru nelo! the hands he took in that one were just brutal!!! canelo walked right thru the bombardment and finished powerpunching old kov with a brutalizing.... BODYSHOt from hell!!

easily couldve lost the akakov fight too. and just a couple fights ago he was bang on even with a rando argie who'd never done anything. prior to that turned to jelly by isufi. barely edged ryder, lee, and eubank....one a split, another an md, the other by 115-114/115-113. all solid wins but just barely got over the line and not on canelo's level at all

i dont know why there's a solid minority who think he's gonna put in some masterclass boxing

well, but apparently it's all changed now, because he yelled beef at canelo a few times

I think the skill drop off beyond middleweight is quite marked at the moment, and it’s very easy pickings for Canelo. Saunders seems like a middleweight who just doesn’t like dieting. I suspect he will be fairly awful in this, and sit it out after 8 or 9 rounds. Probably has half on eye on just retiring straight after.

To be fair, the Lemieux fight had some beautiful boxing on display from Saunders, but at the same time, Lemieux is so limited as a "boxer" that it made BJS shine. Lemieux was just following him around the ring all night, lunging in, no bodywork, no general ring IQ, he was just shite. Quality puncher on his day though.

I went and watched BJS versus coceres and the fight with Murray, and one thing that stood out to me, was that BJS looks more flat footed to me these days. He doesnt seem to have that same bounce in his step anymore, and if that is the case, then he's truly screwed against Canelo. That's his only hope of not getting his body busted up and stopped late or losing wide on the cards.

Probably the best case scenario for Saunders is that his light-punching, ineffective work so non-pluses Canelo, he switches off and coasts to a shut-out points decision. But probably as you say, there is probably both a mental and physical deterioration in Saunders, which thus far has been slightly hidden with by the woeful level of his opposition. More or less a typical protected boxer scenario really, followed by a cash-out.

Expect to see a few nice welts developing over Saunders’ ribcage.

I fancy Chinese tonight, love a bit of sauce with my spare ribs.

Oh BTW, Eubank Sr apparently said outside the hotel that it’s the biggest mismatch he can recall in his time in boxing. That Canelo is the only fighter today who’d survive in the 90s. And that he picked Ruiz to beat AJ the first time because he ‘knows this business as well as anyone’.

He also said PPV is a good thing because it gives fighters so much more money and keeps them away from the mainstream limelight which is a sorry distraction and a pressure. He also said it benefits the home fighter more because crowds are so much bigger due to the punter thinking ‘do I buy to see the fight at home or do I buy to see the fight in person.’

When you think of the great British boxing journalists down the years - Colin Hart, Harry Mullan, Ken Jones, and Steve Lillis - I don’t think any of them would go out on a limb and pick leisure centre Saunders to win this. In way over his head.

Great British boxing journalists .. Colin Hart😟

I had serious concerns with all your Eubank infatuations .. you've just turned that concern up to max🤡
