I'll make book that this thread will outlast "the Great Non Champions"We'll get names that are unimaginable and the usual share of insults. The key, howver,is that you have to start a list.

Don King was not a boxer, but he had a hell of a personality that's for sure!

Tex . What a character. My greatest accomplishment in boxing was getting Howard Cosell out of it. I like the story when he tested positive for marijuana and he said he was doing roadwork on the beach and he ran through a cloud of smoke of a few smoking it.

My favorite 'Cobbism' was "If you screw up in tennis, it's 15 love. If you screw up in boxing, it's yer ass!"f read wrote: ↑08 May 2021, 05:38Tex . What a character. I think the guys that picked Max Baer and Randy Cobb were right on the money for this subject matter. True characters. I would also add to this list of 'personalities' the names of Jack 'Kid' Berg, Lew Jenkins, Toluco Lopez, Panama Al Brown and Angel Robinson Garcia. Garcia, like Olivares, didn't let a minor thing like training get in the way of a good time.

Bruce "the Mouse" Strauss
Mitch "Blood" Green
Re: Boxings biggest personalities
Jack Johnson. Willie Pastrano. Lloyd Honeyghan. Lou Nova. Pancho Villa. Livingstone Bramble. Mike Tyson.
Re: Boxings biggest personalities
I don't find Fury to have any of those qualities. Acting like a complete idiot at any opportunity and talking complete bullshit doesn't make you a personality.Controversial wrote: ↑07 May 2021, 07:31 So what fighters had the most charm, charisma and personality? He can say some silly things but often it's because he's trying to sell a fight. He's good talker when he's being sensible, when he's been interviewed on chat shows he comes across well I think. The after fight singing, dressing up as batman etc, all adds to the spectacle. He is certainly a life and soul, centre of attention type.Monzon83 wrote: ↑08 May 2021, 22:25I don't find Fury to have any of those qualities. Hector Camacho i would say would fall into this category. He certainly was outrageous and used to wear some interesting attire into the ring.Controversial wrote: ↑07 May 2021, 07:31 So what fighters had the most charm, charisma and personality?
