Was that commentator just like someone who works at Fite TV’s cousin or something? He seemed like he was just there having a laugh and was just sort of into boxing a little bit.

Good scrap, didn't do a round by round. Smith did come out of a few of the exchanges hurt, but always came back well.

the 9-3 card , but no problem with kurbanov as the winner...your card was way off
I had Smith 4 rounds up..... OK 1 or 2 might have been hard to split but I thought Smith was doing the better work. It's just how I saw it

The winner to face Tim Tszyu - woulda bet more if I knew that !

Still, that’s a good fight, Liam’s got paid and his rep is undiminished.

I’m not critiquing, I’m impressed by his blagging skills!

I agree tho, there should be a red button option where it’s two drunk stand up comedians or something.

The fight reminded me a little of Frampton Quigg. Smith started very slowly indeed. It cost him the fight. Perhaps years of being with Gallagher has just ingrained that kind of start in him. Very strange to give up the first few rounds on foreign soil. Now we will hear all the moaning about being robbed from the whinging Smiths and people in British boxing.

True. He atleast was enthusiastic and didnt just repeat the same scripted shit round after round.

He's less annoying than those guys. Just dropped the odd clanger lol.

I had to mute him. Why these commentators don't shut the f*ck up when the camera goes to the corner between rounds I'll never know.

Yeah the commentator was a bit rough and ready and talked a lot, but still I would say 50 times better than halling and the rest, plus he was translating the Russian as well

The commentator was much better than most of the guys on bigger outlets, not great but I'd happily have him over Halling, Rawling or Smith. Would like to hear more of him and see if he can tweak a few things. Not sure who he was though.

It wasn't him here but Corey Erdman is IMO the most under used and best in the sport, fingers crossed we hear a lot more of him.

As for the cards, 116-112 either way or anything in between would have been fine so I'm not going to complain at 115-113. The 117-112 score card was bollocks though.

What's often ignored is how fair Russian cards have been in recent years (genuinely it's really surprising how few robberies you'll see in Russia on these RCC shows). British cards on the other hand, not so fair.

Smith started slowly and had a couple of rounds he was edging stolen off him late. I know some will disagree, but a close 55-45 round can be swung by a guy being hurt in the final 15 seconds and that happened TWICE.

Really, really good fight.

totally agree, no idea what those people were watching if they think smith clearly won

i think they were under the impession that he was landing a lot better than he was.....kurbanov wasnt tough to hit, but he rolled with the shots well and liam rarely nailed him clean. you'd have long stretches where liam sort of just followed him around the ring, with kurbanov dancin and taking the odd pop or 1-2 while liam came forward not doing much. then liam would have his bursts, where he would land but not land much clean. kurbanov would usually respond with a combo of his own, it was tough to split

It was a good fight and good boxing and brawling. Great mix

Smith had to knock him down to get a draw in Russia I do think If fight was in uk the decision would be different

ya it was one of those fights that was so close that after the bell you'd have think the hometown guy was more likely to get it

there is no way smith won that 9-3, let alone that he'd get a 9-3 card in russia vs a russian. so i knew when that score was announced that kurby had it for sure

Yeah me too. Put it down to experience and try and get back out asasap is my advice for smith. He’s by far the most entertaining smith to watch and it’s a shame he has the lower profile to at least 2 of them

I think he's the best of the Smiths.
