0:18 * And there is the cut! That was about time, after all that head butting! 2:0
0:18 Rojas is bleeding badly from a gash on his forehead. Cuts on the forehead tend to look worse than they are because forehead cuts bleed heavily, even if they are shallow. However, it won't matter if how deep the cut if the blood runs into Rojas's eyes! 2:0
0:18 * Rojas seems to be having some difficulty seeing. It's not that he's bleeding all that badly but the location of the cut - over the eye - makes it a bit more serious. And talk about timing, the referee has stepped in and momentarily stopped the fight. He's looking at the cut above Rojas's eye and is now leading him toward the ringside physician. 2:0
0:18 * After some dabbing and swabbing and talking to the fighter, the doctor has concluded that the fight needn't be stopped. He's going to allow the action to continue. 01:53 Looks like that shot has widened Rojas's cut because the flow of blood seems to be increasing. 8:0
01:53 The bleeding from the nasty wound on Rojas's forehead is steadier and more pronounced. His corner is going to have its work cut out for it at the end of this round. 8:0
01:53 * Blood is trickling from the cut over Rojas's eye; it has to be impairing his vision somewhat and it's definitely bothering him if the amount of blinking he's doing is any indication. And it looks like . . . yes . . . Referee Ortega is notifying the timekeeper to stop the clock. He wants the doctor at ringside to take a look at Rojas's facial wound. 8:0
01:58 * That's a nasty looking cut. There doesn't seem to be any doubt that it was caused by the accidental head butt in Round 4. The referee has momentarily stopped the fight. They're going to have the ring side physician take a look at it. Rojas is bleeding badly. The doctor's examining it...he's shaking his head. Raul Rojas is protesting...but that's it! They're going to stop the fight. * 4 rounds are not in the books, so this bout is going to be called a Technical Draw! 8:0

Good win for Sanch and glad to be champion, but we accept we probably didn't really fully get the best of Chac in a definitive way yet. We'll be happy to run it again later in the season anyway.

Pep DQ'd? That's twice this season he's been DQ'd. Did he have a reputation as a dirty fighter that I've never heard about? I don't understand this.

As for Morales. I don't know what's going on with him. He's fighting like he's shot.

You can cut him up all day long, and he would have been happy to continue with beating on Sanchez in a self generated crimson rainstorm. But nooooo, the public is a bit on the squeamish side, I guess they must be protected from a true warrior like Chacon. He doesnt even get warmed up until he's down a quart. Ah well.....we all know who was winning.
