they do, and they are often terrible at predictions, scoring, etc.....people really shouldnt put their views on a pedestal just because they're fighters...........most of them didnt excel there because theyre intelligent

I think a lot of the top level fighters ARE intelligent, but the kind of intelligence that primes you for making numerous instinctive split-second decisions while getting clubbed in the head repeatedly doesn't necessarily translate to being able to predict how other fighters' styles or how they are going to match up. Intelligence is such a multi-headed beast.

Froch, for example, seems to be limited to observing who's tougher and forcing the fight 90% of the time - no prizes for guessing how he won his big fights...

Hamed is just hilariously crap as an analyst (well, really, post-fight gobshite). You suspect he didn't really plan a single thing he did in there.
