as pros though

canelo: sergey kovalev, gggx2, floyd mayweather, miguel cotto, erislandy lara, daniel jacobs, austin trout, callum smith, shane mosely. hell , even chavez jr KO'd andy lee!

bjs: david lemiux, eubank jr, andy lee, john ryder....martin murray and nick blackwell?
Floyd schooled him. Cotto was done. Lara won in my eyes, Trout was very close, Mosely about 50.... we will see.
Those fights were still really good for his experience though. He would have learnt loads being schooled by Floyd.
ya, mick knows that too, he's getting desperate here

might as well just fight 0-20 bums if winning easy is all that matters

Both of them have their arguable moments. Canelo has been improving all his career. Saunders brings some obscurity, but it's known, that sometimes he was preparing according to a level of his opposition and/or lacking dedication. Saunders seems motivated now. I'm rooting for BJS, but picking Canelo, although I won't be surprised by some unexpected stuff.

Kovalev to be stopped to the body by Canelo was even more obvious for many.

“When a guy has an extensive amateur background, in the game we call it pedigree. And pedigree can be important. But professional boxing is a different sport, and you will learn more fighting 10 rounds in the gym every day than fighting a few three-rounders every few months against youngsters who have nutrition but not hunger.

“Dan Sherry had 300 amateur fights. I had 26 amateur fights. This Dan Sherry was older than me, unbeaten and challenging me for the title in my first defence in my home town of Brighton. He had beat the best Cuban and so on.

“But he didn’t know how to punch correctly, he didn’t know how to clinch or fight inside or throw body shots. He couldn’t hold his feet. He couldn’t keep up a pace. He was an amateur. I had been sparring 10 or 15 rounds for seven and a half years.”

£1.99 to see the fight on DAZN , that’s a month sub included, then cancel before month expires ...I believe that’s correct.

And for you Luddites if you don’t watch it live you can go onto the DAZN app tomorrow morning and replay will be there, no result given, and you just click play

Its almost here.

I can understand people clutching at anything to see their man win; some here I feel are simply expecting a miracle .. they wont see any logical way Saunders can win now, but just hoping for that miracle to happen like in other big upsets .. they visualising the aftermath when it will be discovered that BJS can actually hit harder than GGG/Kovalev/Jacobs ... that Saunders at this stage in his career shows his Mayweather like skills ... and Canelo shows that his own skillset was hugely overrated by a list of washed up opposition.

Its pointless debating with those here refusing to see logic about BJS chances because they belong to the Traveller community .. or just know a Traveller.

Tomorrow morning there will be excuses made and repeated by these people. But it will come back to the reasons previously identified why BJS wont win ... there are levels to boxing; BJS operates at least a level down from the elite; and Canelo is operating at the very top of that elite level.

Good post. My prediction is that Saunders quits in the fight. He will find some reason to get out of there without getting starched once he realizes he cannot win the fight and the going gets tough. I can see him also hitting Canelo low intentionally at some point. He has heart to an extent and can scramble through fights but ultimately he has the heart of a bully and when he starts getting really proper bullied, I think he will resort to cheating and then quitting. He'd rather quit than give people the satisfaction of seeing him getting KO'd.

What's your prediction, mate?

I was thinking about Chavez v Sweet Pea before so had a bit of a surf. I had somehow missed that Pernell had been killed a couple of years back! Anyhow, I think Canelo, like JCC was, is top drawer, the question has to be is Billy in Sweet Pea's league?
