Bad injury for Saunders there, very unlikable guy, maybe a bit of karma.

Not sure what tf the commentators were watching, i had it a complete shut out... Saunders landed a sneaky shot on a break and was completely dominated otherwise.

Does Eubank Jr get his dough then?

At least Billy has raised a few quid for charity tonight :OhYes:

Had Canelo a couple up at the end but the writing was on the wall. The ref was going to start taking points for holding and Billy was starting to look tired and Canelo looked like a tank........ Eubank Jr will be all over this

Had Saunders been up on the cards after 11 I think he'd have continued, but he knew the stoppage was coming. I gave him a couple of rounds.

There’s no way on earth Saunders was ahead in that fight. Chris Mannix & anyone else saying he was are deluding themselves.

And he quit. Other fighters like Brook & Dubois at least gave it a couple of rounds fighting with a fractured orbital bone before conceding. Saunders took the easy way out & with his track record he deserves every bit of abuse he gets.

BJS was definitely outmanoeuvring Canelo, while throwing and landing more. I find it hard to score for Canelo "looking like he'll snap BJS like a twig in a few rounds time when he catches up with him".
He did do that obviously, but I had BJS about a round up.

Imagine if BJS was The Golden Ticket - he'd be clearly ahead.

well i gave him a couple, but have no idea what some people were watching. simply moving and feinting and jabbing doesnt mean you are outboxing someone. canelo's timing was better than bill's and he landed almost every notable shot of the fight

most of the time bill wasnt committing at all to his shots and was just pitter pattering at air

He was comprtetive took most on the arms , was doing well , nevr gonna win but for me doing very well , putting up a good account for himself ,, then what happenned Canelo caught up landed some big punches and the fooking bully ,, Quit with a black eye,,, BOLLOCKS to dr bunce and the broken socket HE QUIT ON THE STOOL WHEN IT GOT HARD ,,, Well at least the mexicans are happy Saunders is happy with the money he got paid , and his fans are happy they have the excuse orbital bone , fook off i,ve had a broken orbital , my eye was like an egg ,, black and closed completly WITHIN SECONDS ,, He had a black eye ,, but no doubt they will be out wiith x rays soon !

Would,nt be has bad if he was a normal guy who just said fook it he,s too much for me ,, but the way they carry on about being hard men die before lose gypsys makes it bollocks

I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. Let's see what he says in the aftermath. i may reassess then.
Well he's not going to say he quit, even if he did huh.
There's no doubt he quit. Dubois quit too. It's whether quitting in a sport to save your vision should be condemned or not. To me it shouldn't providing the person acknowledges the other person forced them to quit.
I wouldn't usually give someone stick for something like that, but he gave it all the billy big bollocks about "you've never fought a fighting man with a heart like mine" and all that crap, and as soon as it happens, he wants out.

no chance mate, bill was hardly comitting to his shots and was just pawing at air with most of them. almost every round canelo landed the best shots and had bill timed.

some people too easily by into the idea that a guy moving around and feinting and jabbing = outboxing. and im not sure what you mean by manouvring canelo around, one could easily say canelo was backing him up

canelo was up 78-74x2 and 77-75 .....those were actually on the money for once! bjs can rightfullly never say he was up on the cards

Good post. You can't talk like BJS has and then quit. I remember was mocking Conor McGregor for tapping out to a choke saying he'd rather be put to sleep. Does anyone honestly believe he wouldn't be tapping for his life? I don't think Eubank Jr. would have quit there.

Absolutely but I've always taken that noise for what it is. Just because he is the type of man he is, doesn't mean I need to be the type of man he is. I hope his eye isn't too bad and he gets home to his family, and starts to quietly reflect on things going forward. Karma.

exactly! it's a huge pet peeve of mine. .....so many people just see a guy jabbing and give him credit for outboxing their opponent, even if all those jabs are falling short

Canelo broke his face - Literally.

It'll be interesting to see how he comes back from that - The injury looked legit to me, he was just bundled off in an ambulance having a bit of a cry.

As we have seen so many time though, this game is about levels. Saunders wasn't up to it. We have our answer.

They both put up better fights in my opinion. Smith in particular actually took the fight to Canelo.
