Fought to the bitter end. You’d of had to carry him out

Eubank was a warrior in both those CAT fights however the natural weight difference wasn’t as big as it looked like on paper because Eubank was a massive weight cutter at middleweight and Thompson started out at light heavy with a much less extreme cut.

I would say natural weight difference was probably in the 10lb range ..

Eubank is a big boned dude ... in his autobiography there is a photo of him visiting Tyson in prison and Eubank looks the bigger man.

It does make Eubanks middleweight achievements even more impressive when you consider how weight drained he was (and same day weight in for most if not all of his middleweight fights I think)

He had a podgy soft tummy in the first fight and came in at 186 - Carl was shredded and was a Billy Graham fighter.

He lifted weights for the first time ever for the second CAT fight. At King Alfred Leisure Centre in Hove. In fact he was there in the gym there the Monday after the first fight lifting weights, after checking himself out of hospital (initially refused medical treatment before being persuaded by Warren and Ayling).

Andries vs Hearns is a good call...... got to give Mathew Hatton a lot of dues - wasn't there some debate on the weight in the build up also? Wasn't it originally going to be a vacant Welterweight title fight - which would have suited Matthew better. Maybe game more than brave is the best way to decribe it - he tried every tactic in the book really and was found seriously wanting but not for the lack of trying.

Barry Jones was also sadly very over matched against Acelino Freitas but hung on in there and took a beating after the dream start - down 6 times. Steve Robinson took a beating vs Hamed also.

Eubank mental strength was legendary

As I said I don’t think the natural size difference between them was that much .. clearly Thompson had been at cruiserweight a while and had filled out into a solid 190lb guy .. Eubank didn’t take much to look a lot more solid in the rematch. After years of hard weight cuts and never having lifted weights before and with his genetics, the muscle mass went on quite quickly
