Gilgamesh: Why did he leave?
Gilgamesh: Why did he leave?
He (tried to) make a splash... But he just upped sticks and left... Why?
Re: Gilgamesh: Why did he leave?
Because he lost all his hopes and money on Pep!
Re: Gilgamesh: Why did he leave?
I return, gil leaves. Strange, no?
Re: Gilgamesh: Why did he leave?
Because I drafted Willie Pep and Erik Morales, but I didn't get Willie Pep and Erik Morales. I got some bums that called themselves that.
Bernard Dunne is some bum that never accomplished a goddamn thing in Boxing, and he's beating Willie Goddamn Pep?
Vuyani Bungu is only known for fighting Naseem Hamed in his retirement bout, and losing, and he fights Morales to a draw?
This isn't Simulated Boxing. This is just bullsh*t.

Re: Gilgamesh: Why did he leave?
And basically the whole point of this is for us to have fun. Well when guys can't even get decisive wins over guys that couldn't have beaten them in 100 tries, what's the fun in that?
Re: Gilgamesh: Why did he leave?
OK...fair enough....you weren't having fun......but sometimes it's not about you. Others watching the "best" get bested in an odd streak of luck brought joy to many of your competitors. A joy that you have callously stolen...and now our joy has been transmuted into sorrow and anguish. I hope you are proud of yourself.
Also you literally had the best guy....and we are only half way through.....over time....the cream USUALLY but not always rises....even if it takes time....and when the bad streak is in the front end.....well....that's better than flaming out in the last reel of the movie.
Oh....and I nearly forgot the most important part. Good management skills!!! Great managers can make a good deal of money with publication deals if they manage to rise above difficult challenges. You know some of those titles.....like, "Swimming with Sharks" or "Ten Great Management Techniques."
But...maybe you can still rally to fame and fortune, with a book with a catchy title.......May I suggest, "How I managed the best, ran into some bad luck and QUIT IN A SNIT.
Perhaps not intuitively inspiring....but I think folks like "Chad" or "Debbie Downer" from SNL would approve!
Re: Gilgamesh: Why did he leave?
Looks like old Gil is pulling a Billy Joe Saunders on us.
Re: Gilgamesh: Why did he leave?
Now now....Saunders had his orbital bone broken, I think one can quit with honor in that situation. (Unless it wasn't? But damn...upon close inspection, it did look like the lower right eye socket area was caved in)
Re: Gilgamesh: Why did he leave?
You’re right, BJS faced at least some adversity before he quit on his stool.
Re: Gilgamesh: Why did he leave?
In fairness Bernard was a World and European Champion. I've met him before, he's good craic. Very humble guy, makes himself out to be worse than what he was for comedy value....
Re: Gilgamesh: Why did he leave?
Yeah, reportedly it is a triple fracture... Fighting someone as dangerous as a Saul Alvarez is scary enough with both eyes... But with one eye? That's trouble...
I guess the gypsy's curses did not work on this occasion.
Re: Gilgamesh: Why did he leave?
I know I had the best goddamn guy. That's why it's intolerable to me that he's losing to the likes of Dunne in a manner that never could've happened.BoxBuzz wrote: ↑09 May 2021, 17:02OK...fair enough....you weren't having fun......but sometimes it's not about you. Re: Gilgamesh: Why did he leave?
was he actually losing rounds? Or was it an anomaly.?.....I hear the wisp was in an airplane accident....could that have really happened? Or is our earth a simulation? Elon Musk has an opinion......In what world does Pep actually get into an airplane accident? The odds say never.....and yet.....
Re: Gilgamesh: Why did he leave?
Pep’s last urine test showed traces of tachyons. Is it possible he has quantum shifted here from another universe? I say...maybe.BoxBuzz wrote: ↑10 May 2021, 09:10 was he actually losing rounds?
