LOL! WTF are you talking about? We're all giving BJS exactly what he "afforded" to DDD. Stop yer whining. We don't even know if he's seriously hurt or not. Oh yeah...Father Hearn said so.
not sure i'm whining. :maybe: merely pointing out that whilst he is due some stick, he can't be expected to fight on at the risk of permanent damage (vs the p4p no.1). not sure whats so confrontational about that :maybe:
Well, you go on being fair, I'll go on lambasteing Saunders. He derseves ALL the stick he is getting. Never wished him harm physically, just laughing at how weak he is emotionally. Another big mouth with nothing to back it up.

he deserves stick for his earlier criticisms of fights who have "quit", but for all the vile things he's done he doesn't deserve to be blind
Hmmm...don't remember anyone saying that. Also no reports on whether he was injured or not. Not yet anyways.
hearn is saying its a triple fracture requiring immediate surgery. i'm not defending him, just affording him the same standard of non-biase afforded to brook/DDD.
Noone is saying they wish him to be blind. Just calling him out for his bravado and all his talk of the gypsy man fighting spirit, and how Dubois should have let himself be carried out on a stretcher, blah, blah, blah. He has been an odious, horrible person at times, so he deserves the stick he gets.

Dub's eye was marking up from the very first round, he fought on and only finally capitulated in the 10th

Another thing about Dubois is he waited around and did a post fight interview.

Where as Billy Joe was last seen crying into a towel and team Saunders have gone into hiding which is odd, they had a lot to say before the fight :TU:

Good point.
He probably avoided the press conference because Canelo would have reminded him of all the tough talk prior :OhYes:

He quit but he should of quit. Why would he go back out? No way in the world he outboxes canelo with no vision in his lead eye...

I undersatand he had all the talk of I’d die for this win ect ect, but would you go blind to lose in round 10 instead of 8? Cause that’s the scenario, it isn’t risking his health to win, at that point it’s risking his health to lose slightly later...

If he had any kind of greatness in him he’d of gone back out trying to win.

He doesn’t, and that’s fine. See you later lad.

One correction to your post....it's not fine. BS chose to undermine Dubois' gallant effort in a very snide manner, but showed no bravery when it was his turn to show his metal.

Seems to me that many posters here are forgetting that this is point of the hostility towards Blow Job Saunders.

It's turned out to be a disaster for BS.

He WILL be defined by this fight.

No matter how many times he tries to flush, it won't disappear around the U-bend !

Agreed. I’d never criticise a boxer for quitting when they’re clearly in distress and seriously damaged. I said on here at the time that Brook and Dubois did the right thing in taking a knee and staying down. I won’t criticise Saunders for quitting either, even though he is a knob.

If he broke his ankle in the fight, unlikely I know but say he did, if he quit because of that would people still call him a quitter? Or should he hobble around and be unable to move. No difference in my mind, except that an eye injury is far more serious.

Yep he was a cockhead about DDD and I hope some people give him a hard time about those cockhead comments he mad3, because that is not fine.
I’m saying him quitting was the right thing to do there was not real path to victory but there was a real path to permanent injury.
They are seperate issues, billy should get persecuted for the dumb shit he says not for pulling out when he is one eyed vs p4p 1.

We can only speculate. Unless DAZN picked up what was said. Tibbs said "he couldn't see". When Tibbs was asked if Saunders told him he couldn't see he paused for a few seconds, "ehhh, body language, i don't want to talk about what went on in the corner just yet" and "i wasn't getting the response i needed to send him out"

Did he quit: Yes

Was he right to quit: Yes, he couldn't go on and it was his call and he made it - Max Baer (after his fight with Joe Louis) said something along the lines of that because someone pays 20 dollars for a ringside seat doesn't entitle them to a public execution.

Does he get any sympathy from me: Absolutely not. There's nothing wrong with quitting and if he had been a proper adult, he could have had a few post fight words to say he was beaten by the better man and apologise for his words - especially about Dubois - if it makes him into a better human being, then his corner retirement loss would have been the best lesson for him ever.

I have worked out that is the one thing that is really bugging me oogs - is the fact that despite his mouth fornicating working fine (why is how we knew he quit...) he has yet to say he was beaten by the better man and show some humility, in fact, he might have bailed (pending on medical reports/xrays) because he didn't want to do exactly this (or get KO'd in front of the planet of course which was coming in that next round) like the child that he most certainly is.

If he thinks he is just going to brazen it out once he recovers then he can say goodbye to his boxing career in the UK (not that he was a proper main eventer anyway...) he'll get booed to fornicate.

Here's his quote about DDD:
“If my two eye sockets were broken, my jaw was broken, my teeth were out, my nose was smashed, my brain was beaten, I was not stopping until I was knocked out or worse. I don’t agree with a man taking the knee and letting the ref count him out.”
And now as you said, he has nothing to say. F him!
