Yeah - I’m sure that’s the case too. May have got through if he’d walked up to the security guard and explained who he was or went with Tyson.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑10 May 2021, 03:59 I seen this on IG. The security guard probably didn’t know who he was.. why would he?
He just saw it as a fan trying to jump the barricade and enter the ring.

These security guards are not always boxing fans and don’t follow the sport closely either. They are strictly there for the event. Looked like Tyson tried to get someone’s attention.
I seen lots of comments saying the security guard was an idiot, he should be fired etc. Bit harsh, he was doing his job.

Yeah - the guy was just doing his job and the likelihood is that he had no idea who Tom was.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑10 May 2021, 04:21Yeh, he didn’t help by jumping over and charging through.maverick23 wrote: ↑10 May 2021, 04:14Yeah - I’m sure that’s the case too. Old Tom got manhandled after just about managing to scramble over a 3 ft barricade. Is anyone even remotely surprised.

Yeah if he got attention of a guard. Explained who he was and took it from there then it wouldve been fine.
Old tom was old stupid tom in this instance. The security did the right thing.

The show that keeps giving
Just when you think things can't get any better, then this
Excellent scoop maverick123
Security are not to blame. The problem is BS's dad also seems to think you can do what the hell you want, when you want and there will be no consequences.

He may have said this before knowing the real damage that was caused..

People will stop paying if fighters are stopping fighting.

Long term reader and finally made an account, first post...
Thought Saunders boxed fairly well but never really looked like having the power to hurt Canelo or keep him off.
Thought it was the correct call from Tibbs and Saunders didn't seem to protest too much, probably because he knew fighting 4 more rounds against Canelo with one eye would have most likely seen him knocked out.

Good video that eric.
Re: Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs. Billy Joe Saunders - 8 May 2021
I was thinking about this earlier and I agree. If a man is being paid millions to fight by the public there is a legitimate case that he should not be retiring on his stool after one seriously damaging shot. He should perhaps have to go back out and give the public the opportunity to see him fight on and get knocked out (or turn things round, or what have you). If it becomes acceptable for prizefighters to sit it out with injuries, that at one time men would have continued with and suffered long-term as a consequence, people will stop paying as much as they do now. Saturday was anticlimactic.
