New book out

For those of you that understands Swedish.
A biography of Swedish light-heavyweight John Andersson.
He fought mainly in France, USA and Germany.
Andersson had quite an exciting life outside the ring, Among other things he was torpedoed twice during WWII.
And he was co-staring with Georg Carpentier in the movie Toboggan,
375 pp, with hundreds of photos.

The idea popped up when I was researching the history of pro boxing in Sweden.
In 2004 RINGSIDE was published. 719 pp of all fights from the 1890's to 1970 when pro boxing was banned in Sweden. Every fight and every fight card was presented in detail, including for example promotor, attendance, ticket prices. It took me almost 15 years to finish. Every journal and newspaper was researched. RINGSIDE is the large book at the top https://mrboxhist.se/mina-bocker in the list of my books on the not so noble science.

The book about John Andersson took me about five-six years. The hardest part was to find information about his many fights in the US. It was much easier to get Romanian sports papers. During the process I found some distant relatives of John. They provided me with photos and information. That was nice.
The sad part about John was that he suffered from dementia pugilistica. The autopsy report and medical journals was a bit hard to read.
