Middleweights and Light Heavyweights: Sam Langford vs. Canelo

Post by scorpio83 »

15 Rounds Middleweight and Light Heavyweight

Since modern boxing fans forget how great Sam Langford was that fought Stanley Ketchel, Philadelphia Jack O'Brien and a threat to World Heavyweight Champion Jack Johnson behind his great boxing ability to out-jab and out-punch on the outside and inside. Canelo never face a threat like Langford, who wish to hold any division title between welterweight and heavyweight.

Anyways, Langford would out-box Canelo behind his long jabs and smash his face with great counters and combinations to either decision him or late round stoppage. What do you guys and who do you got?

Well if Langford is as stout as they say it could play out something like they split the first 4 rounds or so before Langford knocks him spark out. Or something like that.

Langford by all accounts would more than hold his own against Canelo. Though I do expect he'd find some challenge in him, and may well draw the fight out for rematches. He was known to do that kinda thing :OhYes:

I have a book on Sam Langford coincidentally. Hadn't got to it yet. It's next on the list after I finish a Bio of Andre of the Giant

With the old rules, which allowed all that holding-hustling-wrestling, there would be an intrigue.

With the modern rules, The Red Head would pulverize Sammy.
