This.

I always have thought Max Baer had the warmest personality of any boxing figure I have known of, even more so than Jack Dempsey who rates very high on my list. To me, Baer's persona was a lot like Babe Ruth of baseball fame. I also find it amazing that on a boxing history forum like this that Jack Dempsey has not even been mentioned as a big personality.

Livingstone Bramble. A great character. I met him in Atlanta back in 1999. He is a humble and great individual. A true gentleman and showman.

Alfredo Escalera actually started the thing with the snakes a few years before Bramble. He would enter the ring with a sedated Boa. For a while they even called him the Snake-Man. When talking characters, I had forgotten all about him.

After Alice cooper, before Jake the Snake Roberts. I remember Escarlera. That was pretty wild.

Some interesting characters who were also big names here. However when you take it down a level from the world class and world champs, you also see some big personalities. I submit Wilbert “ Vampire” Johnson. Anybody who comes into the ring in a coffin must have a lot of “ personality “.
