Where is the announcement?
Re: Announced - Fury vs AJ - Saudia Arabia (August 7th or 14th)
It's an announcment about an upcoming announcement, surely you've not overlooked Eddie's MO by now.
Re: Announced - Fury vs AJ - Saudia Arabia (August 7th or 14th)
When did the UK become a colony of the custodians of Mecca?
Re: Announced - Fury vs AJ - Saudia Arabia (August 7th or 14th)
Great idea, Saudi Arabia in August is like 40 degrees every day. What are they having an air-conditioned stadium?
Re: Announced - Fury vs AJ - Saudia Arabia (August 7th or 14th)
Probably a private viewing for the absolute monarchists.
Re: Announced - Fury vs AJ - Saudia Arabia (August 7th or 14th)
Fury seems fairly close to taking an alternative July fight at the moment.

Seriously, two the greatest UK HWs of all time settling it in Saudi Arabia? There are no appropriate adjectives.
UK fans deserve to have this fight in the biggest venue in their country, and they should demand as much.
Fornicate Saudi Arabia.

Re: Announced - Fury vs AJ - Saudia Arabia (August 7th or 14th)
hell, i dont care where it happens, as long as they fight im good--boxing is what im a fan of. most of the ppl complaining will stream it from their room no matter where it happens
Re: Announced - Fury vs AJ - Saudia Arabia (August 7th or 14th)
Its easy to blame Fury if this fight doesn't happen, however, wanting a guarantee that the money is in place ( and we are talking about an insane amount of money) isn't a crazy request and should absolutely be confirmed before Tyson signs on the dotted line. His Lawyers and promoters wouldn't be doing their job properly if they let him sign before a guarantee.
Re: Announced - Fury vs AJ - Saudia Arabia (August 7th or 14th)
Well we do, don't we.
This would be an incredible Worldwide UK event from a packed Wembley. "Hairs on the back of your neck" and all that, but money talks and a vile regime is spotwashing their soft power for money.
What we gonna do tho - boycott it ?!
Still be a great event, great occasion, great fight....

I would seriously consider traveling to the UK for it.
I would never set foot in Saudi Arabia again, voluntarily.

Wont even buy tickets to attend but they’ll want it in the UK.
A bonus of it being in Saudi and not the US, is that we UK fans still get it at prime time.
Re: Announced - Fury vs AJ - Saudia Arabia (August 7th or 14th)
Are you suggesting that AJ v Fury would not sellout a huge venue in the UK?
Re: Announced - Fury vs AJ - Saudia Arabia (August 7th or 14th)
Not necessarily - remember Tszyu vs Hatton. Although I think both Fury and Joshua are much bigger stars in the Uk than the US - so cannot see the US market dictating.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 May 2021, 13:35100%..margaret thatcher wrote: ↑11 May 2021, 12:44 hell, i dont care where it happens, as long as they fight im good--boxing is what im a fan of. most of the ppl complaining will stream it from their room no matter where it happens

It will easily sell out.
What I mean and what I’m sure Mags is saying is the individuals that complain about it not being in the UK are the ones that just complain and they will be the ones streaming online on fight day and not buy tickets.

the fight happening is just way way way way too important for me to care about where it happens

Yeah I agree. Even if it was in the Millennium Stadium which is just down the road from me, I’d probably still not bother getting a ticket. I went to the Takam & Parker fights and had decent enough seats, but would much rather watch this on TV. It’s too big a fight to be worrying about not getting a good view of the action.

Plus stadium fights are pretty shit tbh, unless you’re lucky enough to be ringside or don’t really care about the fights and are only there for the atmosphere and get pissed/coked up.
Re: Announced - Fury vs AJ - Saudia Arabia (August 7th or 14th)
They'll get £35 from everybody who would have bought a ticket for Wembley without having to hire the stadium.
Re: Announced - Fury vs AJ - Saudia Arabia (August 7th or 14th)
It's one of those fights we would like to be at, for posterity if we could.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑11 May 2021, 12:44 hell, i dont care where it happens, as long as they fight im good--boxing is what im a fan of. most of the ppl complaining will stream it from their room no matter where it happens
You might be happy enough in mum's basement catching that brief glimpse of knickers through her open housecoat as she brings the snacks down to your bloated house bound arse, but the rest of us would want to see it live, with Beers.
