Zelfa Barrett vs. Kiko Martinez II - July 2021
According to espabox.com, the rematch is now on and set for late July and again in the UK.
What happens in the rematch? Will Kiko need to KO Barrett?
Will he be beaten fairly this time around?

He was supposed to fight Wayne McCullough early in his career that shows how long he’s been around.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑13 May 2021, 10:35 Kiko seems to have been around forever..... he also looked 45 since I’ve been been watching him....years ago

This is a rematch that won’t happen.
Hopefully Kiko gets a good fight at featherweight or if he can still make it 122.
If he’d just had that extra bit of size he’d have banjoed the brown stain.

I don’t want to see this. Yes the cards were bullshit but Zelfa probably did win the fight (I didn’t score it) and Kiko is getting on for 60 years old.
If it happens again I just think wide UD.

zelfas mum has just passed, so i think hes got more on his mind than a rematch. he should take a little time before rushing into a rematch that in all honesty no one who has a clue on how to score thought that he won first time round.
got to feel for him, he looked really close to her.

That’s sad about his mum; I didn’t know.Offthehook wrote: ↑29 Jun 2021, 05:17zelfas mum has just passed, so i think hes got more on his mind than a rematch. he should take a little time before rushing into a rematch that in all honesty no one who has a clue on how to score thought that he won first time round.

But like I says I kind of half watched the fight (was on the beer) but to me the general consensus of people was that it was a close fight and the problem was with the very wide cards?
Either way… it would be good to see him back after he’s taken time out to deal with what’s happened.

No one had that close, zelfa didn’t win more than 2/3 rounds. But boxing is just a job, he’s got a lot in his plateDioufy wrote: ↑29 Jun 2021, 05:37That’s sad about his mum; I didn’t know.Offthehook wrote: ↑29 Jun 2021, 05:17zelfas mum has just passed, so i think hes got more on his mind than a rematch. he should take a little time before rushing into a rematch that in all honesty no one who has a clue on how to score thought that he won first time round.

I'm not sure what Zelfa can do differently. I think a similar fight with pretty similar cards. Kiko will get robbed again for me.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑12 May 2021, 16:53 According to espabox.com, the rematch is now on and set for late July and again in the UK.

The worrying thing for me is the fact a big super feather is struggling so much with smaller guys. The irish kid boxed his head off b4 getting caught with a good shot then kiko was robbed( both r featherweights and kiko is a true super bantum). How is barrett gunna handle a good solid super feather.
