Retire? Good point. Canelo has all the $$$ that he SHOULD ever need, along with many other successful Biz interests. He, Eddy, and Chepo have their own extensive stable of young fighters.
Retirement after unifying SMW is a legit and smart option.

He was recently interviewed and expressed his ambition to become a billionaire.
That's a lofty ambition, but it wouldn't surprise me if his net worth exceeded $500m in five years time.
I agree.
I believe that he could become a billionaire post boxing career (in the ring) by way of smart business moves and investments. Canelo could become the biggest promoter in North America and possibly the world, while simultaneously managing a huge stable of fighters, making massive $$$ on his brand, and investing wisely.

Canelo is leagues above plant / charlo / Benavidez etc and whilst they are messing around fighting lower level opponents he is pushing all of his boundaries and just seems to be on another level and far too powerful for anyone to stay with .
Currently the busiest champ despite all the covid issues , realistically both Callum Smith and Blow Job Saunders needed at least 2 build up fights to be anywhere near ready but they still took the $$$ - sorry I mean fight when it was offered .
So until the cracks appear or he just gets bored why would he retire ..
Canelo is rich enough to retire, with it without managing and promoting. But he genuinely seems to care about being the best of his era. it’s always going to be hard to overtake mayweather because he had a loss, but if he can clear out 168, then clear out 175, then duck back to 168 and duck up whoever’s worked to the top there in his brief absence then he is the best of the era. Or even cherry pick a weak cruiser champ.
Canelo fights are going to get bigger and bigger now he is speaking English and growing an attitude, and it’s not like he is taking massive damage, has 5-10 probably more, great fights in him.

Screw the money. I don't give a flying one about his finances, I'm sure he's not ever going to be worrying about how he's going to pay his lecky bill.
I just want to see him fight while he's still at the top of his game. Plant or Charlo or anyone below 175 is not going to cause us to speculate as to who will win. The fighter that has a chance will be very talented and a much bigger man.
Beterbiev? Beter bi him than anybody else on that list, although I'd love to see how he'd manage a small heavyweight of modest ability. Someone suggested Alen Babic, that would be a fantastic spectacle while it lasted.

He doesn't want to enter a boring and predictable phase of his career where all his fights are sure wins. Taking on Caleb is good, GGG III would be good and maybe FMjr II. After that what is really out there for him?
