Dubois leaves Tibbs for Shane McGuigan
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.dail ... Tibbs.html
Daniel Dubois has split with trainer Mark Tibbs and is now working with Shane McGuigan, Sportsmail can reveal.
The heavyweight contender only appointed Tibbs as his head trainer back in February and was yet to have a single fight under his tutelage
The split is understood to have come about after Tibbs informed Dubois' team that he has other commitments.
Dubois, who is bidding to get his career back on track after having surgery on his broken eye socket from the stoppage defeat to Joe Joyce last year, has wasted no time in finding a successor and has teamed up with well-respected trainer McGuigan.
The 23-year-old will have just four weeks of preparation time with his new trainer before he makes his anticipated comeback against seasoned heavyweight Bogan Dinu on June 5.
Dubois joins a talented crop of fighters at McGuigan's London gym, with Luke Campbell and new WBO cruiserweight champion Lawrence Okolie becoming his new stablemates.

Good move for him I think. I rate Shane as a trainer.

I wonder what went on there to switch trainers so close to a fight?

Tibbs has been away with Billy Joe for quite a while so wouldn’t have been able to do much with Dubois. I think Jimmy Tibbs was helping out but it may have got to a point where Dubois wanted more attention.Controversial wrote: ↑15 May 2021, 04:10 I wonder what went on there to switch trainers so close to a fight?

Hmm still seems a bit odd, the article said Tibbs was too busy, I’m sure there is more to it than that.maverick23 wrote: ↑15 May 2021, 04:14Tibbs has been away with Billy Joe for quite a while so wouldn’t have been able to do much with Dubois. As Mickey said they may not have been had a session together. Daniel’s dad probably got pissed off by it so they’ve moved on.Controversial wrote: ↑15 May 2021, 05:27Hmm still seems a bit odd, the article said Tibbs was too busy, I’m sure there is more to it than that.maverick23 wrote: ↑15 May 2021, 04:14Tibbs has been away with Billy Joe for quite a while so wouldn’t have been able to do much with Dubois. Tibbs didn't look itching to get back to the gym on the videos that have now been taken down....

Interesting to see how the move works out for Dubois. Shane brings a different kind of intensity to Bowers and Tibbs. I can see Dubois honing his skills further under Shane.
Think the McGuigans moved there gym from London by the way.

Re: Dubois leaves Tibbs for Shane McGuigan
Tibbs was asked about Dubois last week and said that there were a couple of things that needed sorting out. Maybe Dubois wasn't prepared to pay what Tibbs thought he was worth.
Re: Dubois leaves Tibbs for Shane McGuigan
I think it has more to do with the facilities of the new gym. They used to live nearer it too.
Re: Dubois leaves Tibbs for Shane McGuigan
Yeah McGuigan has a nice set up at uni or Kent in Canterbury now
