They had KSI-Paul rematch on PPV. Difference it was a pro fight, plus was only £12 I think.

Did crap numbers aswell
Think it was 9.99 - Eddie was claiming it was the 3rd best selling PPV of the year in terms of buys - behind the two Joshua fights.
If it was what does it say about the standard of boxing in the UK?

Was Whyte-Rivas in 2019? Pretty sure that did better than 300k buys.

In The UK, don’t see it being a huge amount.

Should be £9.99, will be no more than £20

This is quite a brutal thing to say, but what will wash these joke fights away, at least in terms of pros vs YouTubers, would be if Paul gets really badly bashed up, like trapped on the ropes with a shite ref and he can't hit the deck while getting teed off on type scenario.

I don't want the kid to be hurt, but I do kinda want to see the likes of Smith report on the aftermath having hyped it up beforehand.

Yeah Smith looks ill and grey in the video announcing the PPV. I think he knows the curtains are drawing in on his evil reign..... boxing may be coming to a close on Sky, and Smith has that sick feeling in the pit of his belly.... he knows he can never get another job at another firm - who on Earth would want to employ British boxing’s least respected voice? He knows he’s facing either a redundancy or a relegation to the occasional bit of commentary on darts and women’s netball....

Thing is i don't think Floyd will do that. It won't surprise me if they have stitched up a contractual agreement not to hurt each other or something similar. Like the way Floyd carried McGregor for 10 rounds when he could easily have got him out of there earlier. He barely threw a punch for 6 rounds.

This is WWE style orchestrated performance and nothing to do with the sport of Boxing.

Talking of WWE, hopefully we’ll see Floyd crack a chair over Logan Paul’s stupid head.

Floyd admitted a few years later he allowed the McGregor fight to go into the later rounds so there was potential for a rematch.
I thought would have been incredibly obvious to anyone who had eyes, but we still had people on here after the fight claiming Floyd was doing his best throughout

This is certainly the least attractive PPV I have ever come across..given the time zone surely this will struggle to do 100k buys..?? I actually think it could fall seriously short of that , and I wonder what reaction this would have at Sky...

Floyd was less generous to the little Asian kid he did exhibition with - there is a chance that he sees that WWF style exhibitions are coming to the end, and wants to underline his end with them too.

Although the precedent has been set, well at least here in UK; that if someone gets a black eye they can claim - or Suspect - they have an orbital bone fracture .. and quit.
There is little chance Paul would take anything except 1-2 big shots before the end.

Real Serious Boxing fans are far too hard to watch a bit of fun entertainment.

Get over it. It’s happening and it’s not going away. It doesn’t cheapen boxing, it’s bringing more fans to a desperately dying sport. Boxing has cheapened itself by selling us mismatches week in week out and selling them as real fights. It’s obvious what this is.

If it doesn't do at least 500,000 buys, its because all the Paul fans are experts at streaming and Floyd fans know its not a fight.

One of my mates wouldn't know Josh Taylor if he passed him in the street but has spoke about this fight several times. Even saying how Paul is a lot bigger, only takes one punch etc... same lot who bought into the McGregor fight.
It's the garlic bread of boxing....this is the future.

Aren't the last 3 or 4 highest ppv's this type of shite?

Press Release | Showtime Team Announced

SHOWTIME has set its announce team for the event headlined by boxing great Floyd Mayweather and social media star Logan Paul with a mix of International Boxing Hall of Fame talent, sportscasting veterans and entertainers.

MAYWEATHER vs. PAUL: BRAGGING RIGHTS is being produced and distributed by Showtime PPV and will take place Sunday, June 6, live at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.

In advance of the event, the network will premiere an immersive 30-minute special titled INSIDE MAYWEATHER VS. PAUL on Saturday, May 29 at 9:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. PT on SHOWTIME.

Showtime the longest-tenured network covering the sport of boxing, has tapped veteran sportscaster Brian Custer to host the unique event. He will be joined by the award-winning comedic duo Desus Nice and The Kid Mero, the hosts of the SHOWTIME hit late-night program DESUS & MERO, who will provide their unique and entertaining commentary throughout the event.

Calling the action at ringside will be the most versatile voice in combat sports, Mauro Ranallo, alongside Hall of Fame analyst Al Bernstein and three-division world champion Abner Mares. Also joining the robust team will be former MMA fighter and comedian Brendan Schaub of Showtime Sports’ digital series Below The Belt, serving as roving reporter. The in-ring announcer will be world-renowned Boxing Hall of Famer Jimmy Lennon Jr.

INSIDE MAYWEATHER VS. PAUL takes viewers inside the training camps of both superstars from two different worlds as they prepare for their fight. The Showtime cameras embed with the 44-year-old Mayweather, a 2020 International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, in Las Vegas as he readies himself for the exhibition bout.

The cameras also follow the hugely popular Paul, who stands six inches taller than Mayweather and owns an 18-year age advantage, as he goes through a rigorous training camp in Puerto Rico and attempts to shock the world on June 6. INSIDE MAYWEATHER VS. PAUL also captures the moment when Mayweather and the Paul brothers met face-to-face for the first time and exchanged verbal jabs in Miami on May 6 during their kickoff press conference.

Showtime Sports will also provide extensive coverage of fight week events with commentary from a wide array of the network’s top digital combat sports and entertainment personalities including contributions from Schaub, Luke Thomas and Brian Campbell of MORNING KOMBAT and Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson of ALL THE SMOKE to cover every angle.

Live coverage of fight-week events including Mayweather and Logan Paul media availabilities, the undercard press conference and the main event ceremonial weigh-in will stream live on the Showtime Sports YouTube Channel. In addition, Showtime Sports, in collaboration with Bleacher Report, will take fans inside the training camp of undercard fighter Chad Johnson, providing unique access to the highly entertaining NFL star as he prepares to enter the world of prizefighting on June 6.

The premiere of INSIDE MAYWEATHER VS. PAUL will immediately precede the Saturday, May 29 Showtime tripleheader headlined by WBC Bantamweight World Champion Nordine Oubaali and future Hall of Famer Nonito Donaire meeting in a long-awaited championship showdown.
