Fury vs AJ fight in doubt - Wilder wins legal case for Fury rematch

Post by Controversial »

Just seen this on Twitter from Michael Benson

‼️ Deontay Wilder has reportedly WON his arbitration case for a trilogy fight with Tyson Fury, which must take place by Sept 15th. [According to @MarkKriegel]

❌ This means Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury for Aug 14th is now in major doubt.

Not that many. I think it warrants its own thread.
If it's enforced, heavyweight boxing will be pointless for at least a year, and may never have an undisputed fight.

Given Eddie has spent weeks telling us about the site fee you can only imagine Wilder will want a nice $35mil+, at least which will need to come from somewhere...

Not like they can promise him a fight with the winner either, given they have been negotiating this bout whilst ignoring his contractual agreement with Fury.

How has this managed to not be sorted?

Going to be a mess now as well as mandatories won't wait forever, stripping one title sees the bout lose some allure. Sure still huge but a bit of shine here and there off it will suck

This needs to be dealt with by Tyson’s team

He has had 15 months to have the rematch ..

was it for a specific guaranteed purse which couldn’t be delivered during a lockdown ?

Seems like a bad contract .. Wilder basically went AWOL for a year and now suddenly is back and wants to fight ..

All seems very amateurish and it will really grate it the d1ck Wilder gets huge step aside money when he is no longer relevant and doesn’t deserve.

Does explain why Arum made little effort, and let the Essex boy do all the leg work... Do get the feeling Arum doesn't care any more. His rant about Crawford last year and rant at judging in Nevada... Burning bridges and not giving a fornicate

If theres a pay off for Wilder then it should come out of Fury's end, Arum the lawyer fvcked up, Chris Lloyd seems to think this was always on cards and he knew Fury was lying when he tweeted fight was on yesterday, suggesting that Fury was full of sh1t and just covering his ass for when fight gets scrapped, that would also suggest Hearn knew as well surely

Taylor and Ramirez in a historic, career defining battle this week and the little attention they are receiving is undermined by the HW mud wrestling clown show. :brick:

Really does seem like everyone knew , Warren , Arum , John Fury , and even Deik Chisora said its not happenning ,,, yet they still wanted Joe Public to believe its going ahead ,, easy to see why people INCLUDING myself are losing interest in boxing in general and this fight in paticular

Nevertheless there isn't elite quality at the weight and if Taylor is going to achieve true greatness he will need better dancing partners, like the Crawfords of this world.

Eddie must have factored this outcome in?

Otherwise he’s going to look daft after running around the world like a busy beaver whilst everybody else has just sat back.
