Why do so many ask "does Wilder deserve a rematch?" When has "deserving" something meant anything in boxing? It's about what a team negotiates. If it was about what someone deserves, the little guys would be getting fat pay cheques, and fighters wouldn't be able to sit on their hands for the Canelo payday. The sport isn't about getting what one "deserves"

I don’t keep archives of my cards but I had Wilder 115-111 I believe, or 114-112. I wasn’t as impressed with Fury’s flickery as most were.

I had no problem with the draw, and I would not have called a close decision for Fury a robbery, like so many called the draw.

Fury accomplished next to nothing in that fight, with the exception of getting up off his ass twice.

But, I will watch Fury v Wilder III if it happens and AJ v Usyk or whoever.

That's how it should have been. But today top fighters are on the bum diets to preserve the winning streak and secure the challenger status. That's pure sh1t. A really good and watchable fighter can be chosen for the shot even with recent losses. Moreover, the value of the straps is going down. Every sound fan will know who's the man and who holds the paper belt. The boxing politics went ridiculous.

No doubt.

But...there are signs of life in the lower divisions. The Showtime card last Saturday was great. Competitive up and down. This weekend we get two old school warriors putting it all on the line AND Lundy v Zepeda. In fact, the whole damned card is solid. Wish I could be there.

Canelo has been doing his part.

Decent fights coming up this Summer. Teofimo v Kambosos Jr should be a competitive barn burner.

All of the classes from light welter down are firing up, IMO.

Yeah, that's a contradiction. If he knows his worth, he wouldn't also be stupid enough to refuse to be paid step-aside money that exceeds his worth. He'd probably make $30-35 million from a third fight, that's his worth. If he refuses $40 million because he thinks he's worth more, then he doesn't know his worth.
