Jake Paul Breaks Away From Triller, Has Deal in Place With Showtime
Youtube star Jake Paul has broken away from Triller Fight Club.
Paul, who is 3-0 as a boxer with three knockouts, had his last two fights with Triller.
The first bout came last November, when he brutally knocked out NBA veteran Nate Robinson in two rounds in the co-featured bout to the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones pay-per-view. The event generated a monster 1.6 million buys.
Last month, the 24-year-old Paul headlined his own Triller pay-per-view card - and knocked out MMA fighter Ben Askren in one round. That pay-per-view was reportedly a big financial success, although there is conflicting data being circulated regarding the buyrate.
According to information first reported by ESPN, Paul has a deal in place to have his next fight happen with Showtime Sports.
A Showtime spokesman confirmed the agreement to BS.com.
Jake's older brother, fellow social media star Logan Paul, will face five division Floyd Mayweather in the main event of a Showtime pay-per-view card on June 6th.
During the recent kickoff press conference in Miami, Jake Paul and Mayweather were involved in a physical altercation where security had to separate the two teams. The incident generated millions upon millions of online views.
Paul's adviser, Nakisa Bidarian, spoke to ESPN and confirmed the big move to Showtime.
"Jake is proud of the events he participated in with Triller and appreciates the opportunities they afforded him," Bidarian told ESPN. "Jake is excited to continue his boxing career with Showtime Boxing. Fight announcement coming soon."
And Triller also confirmed the parting of ways.
"We love Jake," Kavanaugh said to ESPN. "I wish Jake the absolute best. We had our two fights with him. ... I think for us, we've gone the distance with him that we can go. We won't be doing any more Jake fights."
Paul has yet to face an opponent who has any boxing experience, but often finds himself in verbal wars with well known MMA fighters.
Showtime, who have content deals with Premier Boxing Champions and Bellator, can certainly provide opponents.

Don't get your hopes up on seeing him get knocked out by a boxer, Triller offered Jake an undercard slot vs. an actual boxer but he turned it down and went running to Showtime.

Triller boxing boss Ryan Kavanaugh told Bad Left Hook that Triller talked to 24-year-old Jake about options, but the fighter’s ask has risen to the point where it didn’t make financial sense for the newbie org.
“Jake’s team said they got offered $10 million with upside,” Kavanaugh told BLH. “And so we said, ‘We don’t want to hold you back, we wish you good luck.’”
Kavanaugh didn’t seem close to crushed at the word Jake will be plying his trade elsewhere, and he’s not shutting the door on Jake Paul returning on a Triller event down the line. But, he made clear, he’d want a stiffer test than an Askren for Jake’s next assignment, and he didn’t seem too confident that the dilettante pugilist will be open to taking on harder opposition.
“We tried to look at what makes financial sense,” Kavanaugh said. “I just don’t know how anybody can make money at the level he’s asking for.”

Time to hype on beating bums from Showtime. I doubt, they will feed Paul up to any living body of their roster.

So he can fight Floyd after his brother loses.
It's all being scripted as we speak.

Mike Tyson announced his decision to never work with Triller again, immediately after the Jones Jr. exhibition. So there must be a reason why high-profile names are abandoning the Triller ship.
