Dillian Whyte vs. Otto Wallin - Who wins?
Whyte Return Eyed For Late August, Early September: Arreola a Possible Opponent
Dillian Whyte’s return to the ring has been pushed back from July, although Chris Arreola remains a possible next opponent, according to Eddie Hearn.
Whyte and Hearn met before the weekend to discuss his next fight after he regained the interim WBC heavyweight title with a stoppage over Alexander Povetkin in Gibraltar. Originally, Whyte had been keen on a July fight in the United States but has decided he wants more of a break after a lengthy training camp ahead of the Povetkin rematch.
Arreola was mentioned as a possible opponent after the two-time WBC title contender knocked down Andy Ruiz Jr before losing a unanimous decision to the former WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF champion in Los Angeles earlier this month.
“We were looking at July, we are now looking at the end of August or early September, probably in America,” Hearn said.
“When a fighter he wins, they often say ‘I’m going to have a couple of weeks off then go back to the gym’. But then they often realize they need a little bit longer.
“We were talking about the Arreola fight. He had a good fight with Andy Ruiz and would be a good opponent.”
With the present doubt about the Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua undisputed world heavyweight title fight, Whyte might also like to wait to see how that is resolved before making his next step.
He had resigned himself to waiting until next year for his overdue shot at the WBC title, with Joshua and Fury having agreed a two-fight deal, but the potential collapse of that could push Whyte up the queue, either for a fight with Fury for the WBC title, or for a rematch with his old rival Joshua.

Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Chris Arreola - Aug/Sep 2021?
Date will be around August or early September.
Hearn is confident i'll be Arreola..
Seriously though, Why are they looking at Arreola?
He could fight any other meaningful opponent.
Also, Hearn should have learnt from Ruiz-AJ. If Arreola wins, he's the WBC interim champion.. Does the WBC even sanciton this?
Arreola is on a 2-fight losing streak.
Since 2015, he has beaten Curtis Harper, Maurenzo Smith & Jeanpierre Augustin
Drew with Fred Kassi
No contested Travis Kauffman
and lost to Deontay Wilder, Adam Kownacki & Andy Ruiz..
Whyte needs to crack on, he doesn't need this type of fight.
If this fight is confirmed, then i'm gonna back Arreola.

Whyte will destroy him
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Chris Arreola - Aug/Sep 2021?
Wth? Did I read that right? Or did they just misspell Ruiz Jr repeatedly?

Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Chris Arreola - Aug/Sep 2021?
On the face of it, it doesn't inspire much excitement... Arreola is an alright choice, but there's much more exciting fighters out there than him.
If he is going to the US and he is to fight an American, whatabout Michael Hunter? Isn't he one of their best fighters in the weight division?
Or Howabout Trevor Bryan or Charles Martin - that will add another from World Champion that he has defeated.
Ideally, I would like to see Dillian go in against someone that it would be beneficial for him in giving him a test... My pick would be Luis Ortiz.

Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Chris Arreola - Aug/Sep 2021?
My guess is that Whyte wants an easy fight but one to build his name in the US. Arreola is better known than most US heavyweights regardless of his quality. I was hoping for someone better that would either be an unknown quantity or someone more exciting but Whyte is surely waiting out until he gets his WBC shot now.

a lot of ppl totally jizzed over andy ruiz, and arreola put him on his arse and hurt him a good few times
let's face it, very few other contenders be consistently fighting as good as opposition as dil has, he's not the guy to hate on for opponent selection. look at the absolute trash ortiz and hunter fought last. parker and usyk both last fought a guy dill beat twice, ruiz got dropped on his butt by arreola, pulev 2 fights ago faced rydell booker,wilder/fury havent fought for year and a half at all
arreola has had 3 title shots, dil not even 1 for comparison

I would rather he fought Bryan but Arreola will still probably generate more interest in the US than a Bryan fight would. Hunter’s tied down with Triller now so won’t take the fight.
As Maggie said I certainly wouldn’t begrudge him a fight like this. Arreola’s not great but he gave Ruiz a much tougher fight than expected a month or so back, he’s got an entertaining style and it will keep Whyte active.
Hopefully it won’t be pushed as a monster fight though.

Whyte’s debut in US was against Michael Tann and he was overweight..
Plenty of other names he can fight in the US.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Chris Arreola - Aug/Sep 2021?
Sorry, margaret, but you seem more “totally jizzed” over DW than anyone is about Ruiz Jr.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑21 May 2021, 12:16 a lot of ppl totally jizzed over andy ruiz, and arreola put him on his arse and hurt him a good few times

It is natural for boxing fans to prefer matchmakers choose the winner over the loser of a previous fight to meet a contender. That said, DW has been deserving of a shot for too long, and Arreola is certainly a decent quality stay busy fight, with a measure of legit risk sprinkled in.

Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Chris Arreola - Aug/Sep 2021?
nah, andy got ridiculous love, it was the 'big 4' and stuff, and ppl still rate him highly. arreola put him on his ass and hurt him bad, chris aint a terrible fight when better opponents have been mixed in. pretty much every other hw mixes in guys a lot worse and no one says a word
i get it, whyte extra critiism because he's whyte and is on over hyped ppvs. but still thank the lawd he aint fighting the total utter sh!te guys like ortiz and hunter and hrgovic last been in with
hell, arreola is still arguably ruiz's 2nd best win, yet for whyte apparently its a sh!te fight

If Chris prepares like he did for Ruiz, then I give him a chance of stopping Whyte, and I will laugh my tits offmargaret thatcher wrote: ↑21 May 2021, 15:19 nah, andy got ridiculous love, it was the 'big 4' and stuff, and ppl still rate him highly. arreola put him on his ass and hurt him bad, chris aint a terrible fight when better opponents have been mixed in. pretty much every other hw mixes in guys a lot worse and no one says a word

sure, and here's whyte maybe fighting a guy who put much loved, high rated andy boi on his butt and then had him dancing, a guy who was bad ass fat ass andy's second best win in a nearly 15 year career
it's not really bad at all as something mixed in with tougher opposition, especially when you look at who other hws been fighting, but other dudes get much more of a pass just cuz whytes annoying

if the man can drop the elite andy ruiz hard and hurt his ass multiple times, that's no joke. ruiz did well to recover and score the 2nd best win of his whole career
poor andy could barely land a punch in the aj rematch![[icon_e_sad.gif] :verysad:](./images/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif)
