Course he's a Brit, mate. But, like Taylor he'd more than likely class himself Scottish first and foremost. Like a helluva
lot of Welsh. Nothing wrong with that. It's a weird one with a percentage of Scots, who can take umbrage with the 'Brit
thing 'when a Scotsman has sporting glory. Their argument is " ffs they're British when they win and Scottish when
they lose".

It probably happened before this, but my first recollection of this was when Alan Wells won the 100M Gold and the
country celebrated big time. Certain brickbats came flying over the border. The major one was when Murray
turned out to be shit hot with a racquet.

Andries-Harding III was just as brutal as Andries-Hearns, in my view. Dennis was tremendous in both.

But if bravery = keeping getting up from knockdowns, the winner should be Danny O'Sullivan. He was floored 14 times before being stopped in round 10 in a world bantamweight title fight against Vic Toweel in December 1950. Location was Johannesburg, so Toweel was the home fighters and Joburg is at altitude - everything was against O'Sullivan.

He took a load of shots against that Russian too? Figueroa was a war IIRC. Uh, went 12 with Crawford albeit not at the pace of the others mentioned. I’m missing a few I’m sure. Totally outclassed by Indongo but never looked like being stopped.

Actually did anyone ever hurt him as bad as that time Martinez wobbled him? At least I recall a scare at some poin in that fight it was like one of the two rounds he didn’t win. Other than that I don’t recall him ever being on the verge of being stopped, even.
