Josh Taylor vs. Jose Ramirez - 22 May 2021
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jose Ramirez - 22 May 2021
You sense Taylor knew how far he was ahead and just stayed safe those last two rounds - he was also very very tired.
6-6 in rounds fair but doesn’t really tell the story of the fight which Taylor has won by the 9th round.
Brilliant stuff.

Yes!
Seeing Bayless approaching in my peripheral, and given his pattern for constant interference, I could definitely see myself eating that one. It's a legal shot like they said, but I do think refs should be held to higher scrutiny.
He knew it himself when he went jazz hands. Not my fault! Never been in an accident, but he's seen hundreds.

Ben Davison takes credit for a lot of what Shane did

Kenny "fondle fingers" Bayless was giving Ramirez a little breathing space though, after the 10 count.Grilling Machine wrote: ↑22 May 2021, 23:00Yes!![]()

I thought there were only a couple of awing rounds in there and it was an easy fight to score.
Judges only agreed on 7 rounds. Taylor could easily have been shafted there you know..

That's the irony, Kiwi: the guy he was showing favouritism towards is the one he walked onto an uppercut!

Taylor resume after 18 fights is awesome

Bayless pathetic with his 20 second counts. Crooked.
Taylor needs to go back to Shane. He won, but didn't look that good.

great stuff josh. i did have him well up but wouldve rated it a bit higher if he gave more in the last 2....that type of thing can come back to bite a fighter hard.

I know! Kenny was pissing me off until then. Definitely showing someone thought Ramirez was the A side.Grilling Machine wrote: ↑22 May 2021, 23:07 That's the irony, Kiwi: the guy he was showing favouritism towards is the one he walked onto an uppercut!
I lept of the couch shouting
"the bloody irony!"
Or words to that effect

An amazing achievement
BBC should try pick this up on delay later in the week!
A real showcase of British boxing at its best

JT didn’t look that bad considering he had 1 round in the past 18 months or so

Wow. One of the greatest performances ever from a Brit in a world title fight abroad.

Ya wouldn't have even noticed. He was sharp from the first bell, and making Jose miss in the 12th.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑22 May 2021, 23:12 JT didn’t look that bad considering he had 1 round in the past 18 months or so
So conditioning was decent, I just worry when guys step off the gas because they think judges were watching the actual fight.

Both Moretti & Cheatham gave round 5 to Ramirez. That was probably the easiest round to score either way apart from the knockdown rounds. How anybody can’t score that round to Taylor I don’t know.
