If he had,nt been allowed to take his foot of the gas , scores would of been a bigger margin ,,in Josh's favor

But Has it happenned , just a slight bit of home cooking in a couple of close rnds and it would of been a draw ,, possibly a loss ,,, Davidson took a big chance allowing him or telling him to take the foot of the gas ,,,, Ben thinks its great coaching , personaly i think its playing russian roulette with 4 championship belts

Agree with the Davison mistake comment. I personally had Taylor wayyyyyyy up after 10 (9-1 plus 2 knockdowns) but the rounds had been close enough that I’ve seen them go against people befor. To let Taylor coast was more risky than to have him be aggressive but not reckless.

Think Ben Davison can sometimes think he is too smart for boxing. If you know your up you can cruise but you never know with close is grounds. As it stands Taylor won the fight , but at least one judge gave Jose the round 8 times.. shows how conceivably he could have just instructed his fighter to cruise to a loss.

Correct cheesham gave rnd 2 josh,s way the other 2 gave it Ram , i agreed with the other 2.

But the other 2 gave ram 3 out of 4 for them rnds There was just too many rnds left with ram still in the game on HOME SOIL to allow the foot of the gas,, the boxers obviously like him , but he should never be allowed in charge of the corner in big fights like that, just like he could,,nt see the way to beat Wilder , he failed to see the danger of los ing this one

the 10th i thought josh won, that was the last round he really put together a lot of good shots, plus landed the best of the round with a big left hand potshot off the ropes as ram came in. ram threw more but wasnt really the same snap on his shots any more and the best 5 lands of the round were from josh

i thought the scores were generous to rammy and awarded too much inefective aggresion , though he did take 3 of the last 4 for me when josh started coasting

116-110 jt for me, anything other than a jt win wouldve been a robbery that hugely overvalued ramirez simply throwing more

do agree though, i didnt like the coasting either

i dont buy that it was him gassing, cuz all his work was still sharp and he wasnt getting hit any easier than he was before. still had speed and snap. wasn't getting loose legged. was playing it 'safe, but that can be a bad habit when judging is as wild as it often is

Going by the scorecards if you went to majority scoring they actually had it a draw at 113-113

The fight was close and Taylor gave away some rounds after knocking Ramirez down twice. I had it 115-111.

I had Taylor up 117-109 but i knew the result before so its pretty hard to score when your buzzing, my card might be too wide but the official cards were too close, after the 2 knockdowns Taylor pulled away keeping it simple, beautiful first knockdown in the 6th, slipped the right hand then countered Ramirez with a sweet left and the knockdown in the 7th was a far more hurtful one, big left uppercut dropped him heavily, luckily for Ramirez the bell went because he was fvked, the ref pissed me off all night as well, got too involved, wouldn't let them fight up close and gave Ramirez too long after the knockdowns, Taylor coasted a bit down the stretch but that 2nd KD took the steam right out of Ramirez's work, he might have nicked a couple late rounds but there was only one winner

And Yes Josh Taylor is Scotland's greatest

not too wide really, ramirez only won a few rounds clearly, the 3rd and a couple of the last ones when taylor took it off

i had it 116-110 myself, the 9th was close enough that i coulda given it to taylor too

Very good point..and I like the concept of majority scoring but maybe not after this...

majority scoring seems good in theory but ends up with a lot of weird scores. then again the judges do a great job of producing weird scores already lol

I think people are just disappointed that Ramirez didn’t do enough.. but then again, he was up against an excellent boxer.
