I don’t. He doesn’t even count - he was just a one-off.Steveh583 wrote: ↑24 May 2021, 11:55Of the meds again I seecoghaugen11 wrote: ↑24 May 2021, 10:13 Now going out with a 9/10 27-year-old. Sucks a cracking cock I must say.pure Walter mittee.
As for your somewhat harsh evaluation of Taylor, a genuine question I’d enjoy a serious response to if you’ll indulge me. why do you rate eubank so highly when he happily admits he avoided all the elites in his division? Despite the bravery in pulling out the Benn 1 and Watson 2 wins, his ledger is extremely shoddy over his minor trinket reign. The Rochigiani fight was an ok win, but nothing compared to what josh has been doing tho. Why the high standards for josh given the few Scottish fighters with comparable successes

Taylor has to do it over the long haul like everyone else.
He won’t.
He won’t.

Has he been on any media outlets, especially in Scotland?
Has there been any SNP acknowledgment of his achievement? He's a massive nationalist so you'd think they'd
be all over this.
Don't watch much telly but i heard Tyson was on every brekkie show going after Wilder.

No criticism of Taylor, he has done everything possibleListon Like Jab wrote: ↑24 May 2021, 10:13I think you're being a tad hard on Josh Taylor there. He can't do any more in that division than what he's done. I would argue that he is now elite level himself.Coco wrote: ↑24 May 2021, 09:36Yes but there aren't any elites in his division, no one like Lomo, Crawford, Spence and LopezListon Like Jab wrote: ↑24 May 2021, 08:51
Hasn't he just beaten the two top guys in the division and is now clearly #1 in his division?
Re: so is he now scotlands greatest
I think you can make a case for Taylor being considered an elite boxer.
It's not just who he's beaten, it's also "how" he's beaten them

Re: so is he now scotlands greatest
If he sticks around at 140 for the next year or two I think he will get the opportunity to answer the sceptics. I dont see Teo Lopez or Garcia hanging around lightweight too long.

Re: so is he now scotlands greatest
They've all been close fights that could of gone either way, if he was elite he would of won much more clearly against the world level opposition he has beaten. Also he coasts and gasses far too much in alot of his fights which will cost him dearly if/when he's ever matched against an elite opponent
Re: so is he now scotlands greatest
He's not very popular up here due to alot of his out of the ring carry on, for example racially abusing night club bouncers and challenging them to fight, also he was regularly mouthing off about rangers and the supporters on twitter a few years back, if your a boxer in Scotland looking to build up a fan base you don't get involved in football and slag off one side of the old firm you are automatically going to be a hate figure to half the population of the country. Also his begbie from trainspotting hardman routine at press conferences and weigh ins etc is hardly going to win him any fans within the likes of the SNP their not going to want to be associated with thatMy Name Is Earl wrote: ↑24 May 2021, 13:41 Has he been on any media outlets, especially in Scotland?

Re: so is he now scotlands greatest
Yes but prograis has turned out to be completely overrated and Ramirez is just an bang average wbo type world level fighter, he hasn't got any wins against elite opposition like Buchanan and lynch have. Also it's not a great division he has cleared out and every top guy in it that he has beaten have been very close fights that could of went either way.Liston Like Jab wrote: ↑24 May 2021, 08:51Hasn't he just beaten the two top guys in the division and is now clearly #1 in his division?Omerta wrote: ↑23 May 2021, 17:28 He hasn't even fought at elite level yet let alone won against an elite level opponent. He's still got time to do it but to say he his currently the greatest ever Scot is pushing it just now, it wasn't exactly a classic division he's cleaned out , prograis turned out to be well overrated , barancky was shown to be nothing more than a fairly decent level come forward brawler that suffered a hell of a ko defeat last year, and Ramirez was nothing more than a standard wbo type champion.

I had to check Prograis record to see what had happened for him to now be deemed overrated...none the wiser

Re: so is he now scotlands greatest
No one has carved up O'Hara Davies the way Taylor did.
Postol was most certainly world class when Taylor boxed him with only a dozen pro fights under his belt. That's a sensational win !
Baranchyk was a serious force and Taylor did the hard graft and put Ivan in his place. No question a Taylor win.
Martin didn't know what to do with Josh and caved in before it got ugly.
The Prograis fight was very close, but IMO the right man won. Prograis was at the peak of his powers and is a danger for anyone at 10st.
Ramirez is a terrific fighter who clearly has more to his game than just slinging lots of punches and piling on the pressure, but the knockdowns were the difference.
There's a definite case for Taylor being an elite boxer.
