Wouldn’t it be nice if it was accurate and on the undercard of AJ v Usyk?

Would be.. but
Not a chance. Catterall is with FW, Taylor is with Bob, who likes to spend more time in Frank's bed than on Eddeh's..
AJ and Usyk are both Eddeh's boys.

I don't think Usyk is with Matchroom anymore.

He has his own promotional company.
However, like GGG, will let Eddie co-promote his fights, due to his TV deals etc.

I’ll go to this if I can. Taylor is going to batter him.
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall - Mandatory
Taylor within 3 rounds complete mismatch
Catterall still dining out on his win against tom stalker all those years ago , he failed to look good against Davis in one of the worst fights I've ever suffered and he went life and death with the tall journeyman from Belfast that's always on ifltv videos
Catterall has no business fighting at world level he's barely domestic level at it is and 20 years ago he'd of been used as a journeyman

Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall - Mandatory
That's ludicrous comparing Catterall to a journeyman of yesteryear.
I've serious misgivings about him getting 1st crack at the undisputed champion in his division, but the guy has talent and is competent beyond British title level.

Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall - Mandatory
Catterall is shite, typical modern era domestic level fighter, would of never of been anything more than a journey man in the 2000s
Taylor turns him into a bowl of rice pudding within the first 3 rounds

Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall - Mandatory
We will see. He is undefeated and makes for a decent home show for the undisputed champ. I can’t hold it against Taylor to take advantage of the opportunity.
Taylor deserves the accolades. TCraw faced no one more dangerous than Prograis and Ramirez on his way to unifying LWW. Josh is tough, skilled and super ring savvy.
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall - Mandatory
Catterall will get utterly destroyed by Taylor if they fight , catterall is round about the same level as O'Hara davis and Taylor absolutely mangled him whilst he was still barely getting used to the pros , with his experience now he will do even worse to catterall without getting out of first gear
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall - Mandatory
ironbeard makes a good point, who did TC beat at light welterweight to cement his undisputed status ?

Jack is basically another Liam Williams. Not fought anyone to prepare him for a world title shot.
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall - Mandatory
I agree Ruthless-RKO....but a journeyman ??
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall - Mandatory
The way Catterall is being described in this thread compared to the buzz that was around him three or four years ago shows quite how poorly he’s been managed up to this point.
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall - Mandatory
I think that it suggests a lack of confidence in Catterall on the part of his management. It looks like they have maneuvered him into a shot. If so, they have succeeded. It is up to Catterall what he does with it.
Foreman was a 3.5 to 1 udog in the first Frazier fight, not to mention Douglas v Tyson.

Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall - Mandatory
Yeh I wouldn’t call him a journeyman. Let’s wait and see in 5 years what he’s doing.
He IS a good boxer.. but there’s levels.
I would have liked him to beat more domestic level guys and even capture the Euro belt.
Not the WBO Euro crap version. Or whatever he even captured.
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall - Mandatory
Unfair on yarde to compare him to Williams and catterall, if yarde actually had a real trainer he could of had the potential to compete and win at world level in a good divisionAllas wrote: ↑26 May 2021, 02:50And Yarde.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑25 May 2021, 19:30 Jack is basically another Liam Williams. Warren's good relationship with the WBO has manoeuvred Yarde, Williams and Catterall into a mandatory position but none of them have faced anyone decent to get to there which doesn't help them come the title shot.
