Most undefeated fighters faced and beaten in a row

Post by ALI »

Josh Taylor has faced 5 undefeated fighters in a row. Those 5 fighters have a combined win streak of 107 wins to zero losses. Three of those five fights were world title fights. One of those five fights was for the undisupted status.

If he fights Jack Catterall next, who has a 26 and 0 record, this is quite something to behold in the modern era, or any era for that matter.

What other fighters past or present have taken on and beaten so many undefeated fighters in a row?

I see I even participated in that thread, and still completely forgot about it lol

Anyway, it is quite some achievement, from one of our own, and needs as much light shone onto it as possible.

Given what he is doing, it is almost a crime he is getting so little media attention for his achievements. Outside of the you TUBERS he is gaining almost zero headlines. He needs to sort out his promotional team ASAP. Teaming up with Match room would not be a bad bet, they would get him out there for sure, and onto Sky.

Yes that is piss poor.

Obviously being with Top Rank helped get him the Unification with Ramirez, and will make it easier for him to get the Crawford fight in the future, but being with TR does nothing to help build his profile over here. Hearn has been saying how badly he was promoted for this fight and that to the best of his knowledge Sky were never approached to show the fight. WTF! Old Bob is never going to grow his profile in the UK.

Does anyone know how many fights he has remaining on his Top Rank contract?

I know Wlad has taken the most 0’s in the modern era.. or maybe even all time.
But obviously wasn’t in a row.

Lamar Clark KO'd 27 debutants in his career (seven in a row) so he probably holds the record.

He had 3 world titles, he was basically just going through mandatories, apart from the odd voluntaries.. Even Fury was a mandatory.

as a HW, if you've got 3 or all the belts, you could just fight mando's twice a year.

After Catt, he might very well go for the Crawford fight, so another undefeated fighter, but not a fight i can see him winning. Personally i hope he stays at 140 for some time. I cant see him beating the big 3 at 147, Crawford, Spence, Thurman. IMO his best bet is to stay at 140 and reign supreme.
