Genius isn't really the right word for what these guys are doing, to quote old Lippy Durocher, 'It's better to be lucky then good.' They're very very lucky being born at the right place in the right time in the right civilization. Mayweather's different but the Youtubers, anywhere else, any other time period, ancient Rome for instance, or if they were born in Mongolia, they'd be either starving, dead, or starved to death. Or slaves. I think the best fit would be starving as an oar slave on a Turkish galleon. Since the other oar slaves would kick their asses and take their salt water and stale bread.
A genius is great anywhere, anytime, any place. Mayweather isn't a marketing genius because he wouldn't be able to market himself in his father's era the same way. Or 80 or 100 years ago. Then he'd be a great boxer, win championships, ect. but he's very lucky to hit this period in time. The way a vulture is lucky to find a dying animal. Well, vultures are geniuses at finding dying animals but Floyd is lucky to have the dying sport of boxing to feed on.
I was watching the Floyd/Pac fight at a crowded bar with a casual friend. It took him a minute to figure out what was going on, I saw the flash of surprise and understanding on his face when he realized everyone in the bar hated Mayweather. Wanted to see him lose and get beaten to a pulp. He realized THAT was what it was all about, everybody hated the guy and wanted to be there to see him lose. That's the genius of Mayweather, being the guy everybody wants to see get beat up. The biggest heel. And we never will, it'll always be unsatisfying. The best thing for boxing would have been if someone had KO'd Mayweather.

Mayweather Sues Company For At Least $122.6M For Failure To Bring Paul Fight To Dubai
Floyd Mayweather wants his money from the company he claims failed to deliver on its promise to put on his fight against Logan Paul in Dubai.
TMZ Sports reported Friday afternoon that Mayweather Promotions has filed a lawsuit against PAC Entertainment Worldwide, which Mayweather alleges breached its contract after agreeing to stage the Paul fight in Dubai on an undisclosed date in 2021. Mayweather Promotions seeks at least $122.6 million in damages, based on projections PAC Entertainment Worldwide presented to Mayweather before he signed a deal with that company.
According to the lawsuit, PAC Entertainment Worldwide never made its first installment, $30 million, of a $110 million guarantee for the event. That initial payment was due March 25.
Mayweather claims that by missing that first payment he was able exercise a contractual clause that terminated his deal with PAC Entertainment Worldwide. The lawsuit states that PAC Entertainment Worldwide still owes Mayweather Promotions the $110 million the event supposedly would’ve generated in Dubai because it was guaranteed.
The legendary Mayweather consequently was forced to find another date and venue for his exhibition with Paul, a 26-year-old YouTube star who has boxed only once as a professional. The 44-year-old Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs), an undefeated five-division champion who has retired three times, will oppose Paul (0-1) in the main event of Showtime Pay-Per-View’s four-fight card June 6 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Las Vegas’ Mayweather and Paul, who resides in Puerto Rico, initially were supposed to fight February 20. A venue was never secured for that date, however, promotion of the event quietly ceased, and Mayweather-Paul was delayed indefinitely.
The new date and venue were officially announced April 27.
There will be one other exhibition on the pay-per-view portion of the Mayweather-Paul undercard – former NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver Chad Johnson against Brian Maxwell. It’ll also include a 12-round rematch between WBA world light heavyweight champ Jean Pascal (35-6-1, 20 KOs, 1 NC) and Badou Jack (23-3-3, 13 KOs), as well as a 10-round bout in which former IBF/IBO/WBA 154-pound champ Jarrett Hurd (24-1, 16 KOs) will face Luis Arias (18-2-1, 9 KOs).

In advance of the event, the network will premiere an immersive 30-minute special titled INSIDE MAYWEATHER VS. PAUL on Saturday, May 29 at 9:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. PT on SHOWTIME.
Showtime the longest-tenured network covering the sport of boxing, has tapped veteran sportscaster Brian Custer to host the unique event. He will be joined by the award-winning comedic duo Desus Nice and The Kid Mero, the hosts of the SHOWTIME hit late-night program DESUS & MERO, who will provide their unique and entertaining commentary throughout the event.

The Showtime cameras embed with the 44-year-old Mayweather, a 2020 International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, in Las Vegas as he readies himself for the exhibition bout.
The cameras also follow the hugely popular Paul, who stands six inches taller than Mayweather and owns an 18-year age advantage, as he goes through a rigorous training camp in Puerto Rico and attempts to shock the world on June 6. INSIDE MAYWEATHER VS. PAUL also captures the moment when Mayweather and the Paul brothers met face-to-face for the first time and exchanged verbal jabs in Miami on May 6 during their kickoff press conference.
Showtime Sports will also provide extensive coverage of fight week events with commentary from a wide array of the network’s top digital combat sports and entertainment personalities including contributions from Schaub, Luke Thomas and Brian Campbell of MORNING KOMBAT and Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson of ALL THE SMOKE to cover every angle.

This is from the blurb on the Sky Sports Arena page in NZ;
"Watch the epic match between undefeated champion of the world, Floyd Mayweather and social media sensation Logan Paul"
What a laugh, is it called creative license or just plain bollocks

More than 4.6m?
I know Logan has millions of followers. Plus the PPV is $49.99, not the usual amount.
Even if it does break the PPV buys, it might not break the revenue.

Jake Paul: Mayweather Fighting Logan? He Needs Us To Sell Millions of PPVs
Social media superstars Jake and Logan Paul been making waves in the boxing world for the last two years.
Their tremendous following on the internet, with 43 million followers combined just on Youtube alone, have made them lucrative targets since turning pro.
Last month, it was revealed that younger brother Jake Paul (3-0, 3 KOs) had agreed to a multi-fight deal with Showtime.
And older brother Logan Paul (0-1) will return to the ring on Sunday, when he faces five division world champion Floyd Mayweather in an eight round exhibition fight. Their bout will be the main event of a Showtime Pay-Per-View.
Logan Paul turned pro in 2019, when a controversial split decision loss to Youtube rival KSI.
So why would Mayweather, who retired in August of 2017, return to the ring to face such an inexperienced fighter?
"He has to," Jake Paul said to Brian Campbell of CBS Sports. "That's why he is fighting my brother. Who else is Floyd going to fight that will sell millions of pay-per-views? He needs us more than we need him."
Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, rejected the insinuation that Floyd needs either brother to sell a major pay-per-view.
"There is zero validity to any of that," Ellerbe told CBS Sports. "Imitation is the highest form of flattery, I always say that. I always say that! They have taken Floyd's blueprint and have been able to run with it and I applaud them for that. But to make any notion of Floyd needing them is really one of the dumbest comments that I have actually heard in quite some time."
Because of their tremendous loyal followings on social media, Jake Paul believes he and his brother are bringing over a large crossover audience to the sport - an audience that rarely watched boxing in the past.
"We are bringing in a new light and a new wave," Jake Paul said. "That's because of the YouTube celebrity boxing culture and us bringing Instagram and all of our followers over. It's all new people who are wanting to pay for fights who normally wouldn't have."
