Will his hands Foreman Grill Gammon?Riddick Blowe wrote:You guys are nuts. Danny will burger Gammer. Grilliams has too much skillet for him. Doughnut underestimate how much bite Flanny has left in him. He also has a handy quiche advantage going in, cheese going to need fat to establish his ramrod flab.
And being a good fighter is as much mental as physical. Williams unfortunately falls short on both counts. I have never seen what the fuss is about "best fighter in the world in the gym" "potential to be the best heavyweight in the world" all absolute bollocks usually from the mouth of Jimmy Mac who lets be honest is a laughing stock after the oxygen tent bullshite!harrygreb wrote:look, danny lost to samil sam because of his head problems ie lack of self belief, loss of concentration etc those psychological symptoms we know danny suffers from. it wasnt lack of ability. i stated the reason DW never made it as a first rate contender was just this problem with his head. he is now adding loss of ambition (in the fight/before the fight) to his list of
failings.
Maybe that was the point when we all should have figured Williams out.
I remember watching the fight with Sam and thinking Danny looked fairly good in a lot of the work he was doing but Sam was timing him well and just outfighting him.
So maybe that's it - when Danny is on form he does look as if he is capable of operating above Euro level but he just isn't. He has the physical attributes to make a world class HW but not the talent, chin or psyche unfortunately.

That was my point. At times he looks as if he is better than actually he is.
I haven't seen the fight since it happened but i don't remember noticing things falling apart. Even though he looked good and seemed to be fighting well he was well beaten by Sam who is as it has turned out decent Euro class.

How I remember the fight was that Danny was getting outboxed early on - getting beaten to the punch regularly. But when he decided to Jab and move (he could move a bit those days) he was doing well, but the damage was already done and he could hadly stay on his feet when Sam landed anything half decent.Shirow wrote:That was my point. That was the one thing that was odd about his display vs Sam, was his legs were not strong at all. He would go down, get up, look good, get caught and go down looking feck.
I'm not saying he has a cast iron chin, he has been hurt too many times before that - but usually it takes a little longer for him to recover, but when he does he is back to pretty much 100% - as he was vs Harrison, Potter, Sprott 3, Tyson, Mivorvic and for the early rounds vs Klitchsko..... Something seemed wrong with his legs in the fight with Sam. His head looked clear and so did his legs untill he got tagged - and not great shots.
I do think though the Sam result, and renewed question marks over his punch resistance resulted in him bulking up.
Oh yes, thats Bollocks.... I'm just saying I haven't seen his punch resistance and legs that poor before or since and too his credit, he has faced bigger punchers than Sam.nickd wrote:Williams claimed he had shingles before and during the Sam fight, absolute bollocks he would never have passed the pre fight tests if he had shingles!
Not sure what it was - probably not done the training, but we have seen him take better shots against bigger punchers better than that.
