Anyways, I would say this again, the prime Foster would out-box Qawi from the outside behind his long left jabs, right hands and left hooks to take a decision in a close fight. Foster would be too slick on the outside against Qawi without engaging him too much.

This is a fight between a near-ATG (Qawi) and a guy who was very possibly the greatest light-heavyweight who ever fought (Foster). Therefore, I've got to go with Foster. Most likely by decision.

A big question here is whether Foster could score a KO. Everyone remembers his one-punch knockout win over Dick Tiger, who was physically the same size as Qawi. But it's questionable if Bob would be able to land his devastating left-hook flush against Qawi's head. That's because Qawi had a method of ducking below and away from (leaning to his own left) incoming left hooks.

Maybe Qawi would give Foster a good fight. I don't know. But certainly the massive height differential - 6'4" against 5'8" - wouldn't help Dwight in the least.

Joe, those other people who think Qawi would knockout the prime Bob Foster at light heavyweight because they thought Qawi was "Smokin" Joe Frazier, who was a heavyweight and he knocked Foster out in 2 as Qawi and Frazier had similar style. However the problem was that this match up was at light heavyweight and Qawi was no Frazier and would unable to nail the prime light heavyweight version of Bob Foster. If it was a cruiserweight match up, then likely Qawi would knock Foster out. At light heavyweight, I said it before Foster would out-box and out-punch Qawi on the outside to take a decision in a close fight.

Skills wise, prime Qawi was better than prime Frazier. DMQ had much better head movement and slipped more punches. I think he'd wear Foster down and stop him late, 12th-13th perhaps.
