Agreed. The most overrated “fighter” around. I used quotes bc what Porter does in there isn’t Boxing. A ref worth any salt would ring him up with penalty points every single round. I’d rather listen to my chick tell me a story about what her and her friend did in the city earlier than watch Porter fight anyone. F’ng hack job
If you can get away with it, it's not a foul. Remember that.
A sport is a joke when the rules are tipped to one one side so obviously. Porter has lead with his head his whole career and has won fights bc of it and has not once been charged a point for it. Porter has not been considered the B side of hardly any fight he’s been in so your point is pale. Tonight was yet another illustration of the reluctancy to call fouls inside the ring to these blue chip fighters. Haney egregiously held Linares since the end of round 10. Literally running at Linares arms out to initiate a hug for two rounds, not even attempting any offensive assault and what we got was not only fake warnings by the ref but he actually takes a point from Linares for hitting behind the head which, by the way was a result of excessive holding by a Haney who was clearly on geek street since the end of round 10. This is what makes Boxing a joke and it’s become so common now how crooked this F’ng sport has always been that no one even complains about it anymore. Even horrible decisions now are laughed off and blamed on “hey, it’s boxing. Watcha gonna do lol”gilgamesh wrote: ↑29 May 2021, 13:22Every major fight Porter has ever had he's the B side in. The ref did not penalize Linares, but I agree about Haney's holding. That was excessive holding. I can't even blame Haney. He was trying to survive while hurt, but the ref should have warned and then penalized him if he continued because he was spoiling. The ref never even issued a hard warning about it.
Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Errol Spence - Advanced Negotiations for July
Your'e complaining about Floyd not getting penalized with the way Maidana was fighting? It kind of negates your criticism of Porter not getting penalized for his bulldog tactics. Manny’s a live dog. I’m rooting hard for him to upset and de-throne Spence in what is hopefully his retirement fight, opening the door for a whole new generation of welterweight talent.

WBA Prez: Manny Pacquiao Has "High Probability" To Be Reinstated As Welterweight Champ
It appears the merry-go-round in the WBA welterweight title picture will continue.
In January, the WBA named Manny Pacquiao as its welterweight "champion in recess" and promoted Yordenis Ugas to its "super" titlist.
The move was made due to Pacquiao’s inactivity.
The 42-year-old Pacquiao has not fought since July 2019, when he added to his WBA “regular” title by snatching Keith Thurman’s WBA “super” title as well in a spirited split decision win.
Ugas (26-4, 12 KOs), meanwhile, has sat on the WBA title he was awarded without throwing a single punch. He’s not fought since scoring a split decision over Abel Ramos last September.
Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39 KOs), however, is ready to resume his legendary career against Errol Spence Jr. (27-0, 21 KOs) in their Aug. 21 FOX Sports pay-per-view showdown in Las Vegas.
Spence is the owner of the WBC and IBF welterweight crowns.
WBA president Gilberto Mendoza said that Pacquiao could be reinstated as it’s “super” titlist, and thus, making the bout a three-belt unification match in the division.
“Initially, the plan was for Ugas to fight Pacquiao,” Mendoza told ThaBoxingVoice. “But now, the Spence fight was announced. [MP Promotions head] Sean Gibbons, who represents Manny, they’ve written a letter to be placed back in [as WBA “super” champion]. We’re working on it. There’s a high probability. It has to be run through a championship committee and voted before being taken to the president.”
Out of boxing’s four major sanctioning bodies, the WBA is most guilty for muddying the championship picture.
Most of the weight classes have a WBA regular, super and interim champion.
The WBA reversing course on their irrational move from earlier this year and reinstating Pacquiao as its champion is the only scenario that should emerge from their current reconsideration.

Lawsuit incoming!!
I doubt it though.
WBA don’t wanna miss out on the sanction fees.
It’s all in-house, so PBC will tel Ugas, he’ll have the winner.
Happy days.

We’ve know. for a few days about the likelihood of the WBA reinstating Pacquiao.
It’s quite an outrageous move, but they’ll probably have some complex legal jargon in their rules to allow them to renege of their previous decisions.

Manny should get the wba back to be fair. Inactivity in a pandemic only to sign a fight with the best/most proven welter in the div. sure it’s a circus but I’d be ok with giving that title back. Deserves it more than the guy it got handed to.

Considering his advantages going in it was over confidence and a number of other things.

Thurman under-performed, plus gave Pac the green light to juice up by telling him he can take anything he wants, with no random testing.

Wonder how this fight will sell. I for one can't watch it since there will be no triumph in it. If Spence wins then yay he beat up an ancient former flyweight champion. If Pac wins then yay, he will have whooped someone will have to be regarded as retarded after that for failing to get a win with everything on his side.
To think that promoters are spending a fortune on this nonsense. Won't this fight just sell like any other Pac fight? Doubt Spence is bringing that many fans to the screens.
