But he could punch..
To be fair the KO’s he took, where brutal. He’s taking loads of good shots and stayed in the fight.
Garcia caught him in the ear, Canelo would have knocked out anyone with that punch

No such great fighter exists. They can all punch and take a shot to a greater or lesser degree.
There are those who have failings in these areas and Khan is widely strung out for having a glass jaw, which is absolute crap.
You don't come through the shellacking he took from Maidana if you've got the weak chin Khan is supposed to have. If he had a china-chin Amir would have been falling over every fight because he was a big risk taker.

Khan has ridiculously good hand speed. He just had the iq and ring smarts of a chimp and at one point for it into his head he was some banger.high tower 1 wrote: ↑31 May 2021, 07:46More speed than power. Fastest hands I’ve ever seen.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑31 May 2021, 07:21But he could punch..

Fair play to him though he’s been in with some class opposition and lesser men would have collapsed against maidana but instead he was banging his gloves together and wearing them like ear muffs.
I remember watching pre fight footage of Garcia throwing those huge looping overhand rights at the bag and thinking to myself man Khan is going to have a hard time with those.

aye, khan has atg level hand speed, blazing fast. i remember him fighting judah and alexander, both fast guys themselves, and he made them look like sloths
Re: great fighters who couldnt punch or take a shot
One of my recurring boxing daydreams, besides what if Joe Calzaghe's hands weren't made of bone china, is what Khan's chin wasn't made of samemargaret thatcher wrote: ↑31 May 2021, 14:42 aye, khan has atg level hand speed, blazing fast. i remember him fighting judah and alexander, both fast guys themselves, and he made them look like sloths

cory spinks is also a money answer for the tough question of sons who were better than their famous fathers
Re: great fighters who couldnt punch or take a shot
Don't think anyone gets to that level without being able to punch or take a shot ,,, maybee not KO one punch power ,, but definetly hurt with the punch power , Its actually harder to ko someone with one punch than what people think .
Also brings you to the age old question can you teach power ,, personaly i think its natural some lucky ones just have it ,,, You can teach 20 kids to punch correctly and hit harder , and then in walks that one kid with natural timing and he hits just has hard without any coaching , teach him the same on how to deliver and bingo ,, you have a puncher ,,

I don't know if you would call him great but Cesar Cuenca was a world champ who went 48-0 before losing. He was stopped in 3 out of his 4 defeats and only had two stoppage wins out of 48.
