After flying under the radar for many years, Nonito Donaire has now certainly won himself an increasing amount of respect throughout the boxing world.

That epic November 2019 fight with Naoya Inoue is only looking better and better with time.

Tough to beat the Nonito left hook, absolute belter. Great to see him stopping an unbeaten champion at the grand old age of 38, hope he gets another big fight next time out.

You must be a new fan of the sport huh?

Donaire was hyped like a motherf*cker, and was #3 or so P4P at one point. If anything the win over Oubaali just solidifies the hype around him. He's a good fighter, even aging he's still a very formidable opponent.

I think we're talking about different radar setups.

Okay, on a worldwide scale, whilst he's no Logan Paul or even Manny Pacquiao, he is finally getting some global recognition.

In fact Nonito Donaire is just the kind of representative that the image of this sport sorely needs right now.

Nonito Donaire-Nordine Oubaali Main Event Averaged 217,000 Viewers On Showtime

Showtime’s viewership was just short of the average audience, 221,000, that watched unbeaten Brandon Figueroa stop Luis Nery.

The network’s co-feature, Subriel Matias’ technical-knockout defeat of Batyrzhan Jukembayev, averaged 179,000 viewers.

The opener of Showtime’s tripleheader, junior welterweight Gary Antuanne Russell’s sixth-round knockout of Jovanie Santiago, drew an average of 159,000 viewers. Russell (14-0, 14 KOs), of Capitol Heights, Maryland, dropped Puerto Rico’s Santiago (14-2-1, 10 KOs) in the fourth round of a one-sided fight that was halted after the sixth round.

3 years ago, showtime boxing hardly averaged below 400k views. Now it's normal for around 200k.

I think most people that were subscribing to Showtime just for the boxing unsubscribed after PBC started putting most of their cards on FOX.
