The Dunning–Kruger effect is a hypothetical cognitive bias stating that people with low ability at a task overestimate their ability.

Knob, thy name is EO.Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑04 Jun 2021, 23:55A lot of IT people have a god complex.lazboy wrote: ↑04 Jun 2021, 23:50If he was decent at his work You’d think he’d have some self esteem but he constantly trys to be the smartest poster in the room, which in my opinion shows a distinct lack of self esteem.Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑04 Jun 2021, 23:43
He isnt dumb but he has trouble with abstract thinking and doesnt understand business whatsoever. He thinks hes brilliant though because i bet hes got an IQ of 110 and hes decent at his work (id guess IT but thats stereotyping on my part)
A lot of slightly above average IQ people think they are superior and are knobs when actual experts put them in their place.

Interesting comments. Makes me reflect on the few IT workers I do know - a couple are fairly odd. I do think it’s deeper with EO, such as a personality disorder or autism or both. Perhaps a career in IT attracts those people.Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑04 Jun 2021, 23:55A lot of IT people have a god complex.lazboy wrote: ↑04 Jun 2021, 23:50If he was decent at his work You’d think he’d have some self esteem but he constantly trys to be the smartest poster in the room, which in my opinion shows a distinct lack of self esteem.Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑04 Jun 2021, 23:43

Almost the opposite of this is the imposter syndrome. Whereby you may have the ability however lack the confidence.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑04 Jun 2021, 23:57 a lot of dudes, no names named, display this

What’s abstract thinking got to do with the fact that Jones Jr. went broke sometime around 2015?Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑04 Jun 2021, 23:43He isnt dumb but he has trouble with abstract thinking and doesnt understand business whatsoever. I cannot believe I tried to explain something to EO in earnest. WTF was I thinking!? LMFAO!
Are you pretending it didn’t happen? Did the media and members of Jones Jr’s own family (including his father) lie? Do you feel it’s a conspiracy theory?
The reason he held onto some of his assets is probably more related to being bailed out by the Russians and also continuing to engage in meaningless fights for tiny purses (even when he should’ve retired), rather than the legal technicalities of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy law.
And if Jones Jr. does have a few millions in the bank today, it’s primarily due to the sum he received for the Tyson exhibition.
Did you even bother to check Roy Jones Jr’s financial plight?
Why are you so bogged down with a legal technicality that, by your own admission, you cannot even provide any proof of how it affected Roy Jones Jr’s wealth?
Am I the only person that can read that frequents this forum?
How can somebody, like you, be so bothered about being “right” and expend so much time and energy defending your own stance, yet be incredibly lazy to the point you can’t be bothered to fact-check any of your own claims?
By my own admission, there’s nothing particularly “clever” about research, comprehending the information that was studied and then formulating an opinion.
And this is precisely what I did in regards to Jones Jr’s financial history.
It’s a shame you didn’t have the intellect to do the same, because providing a counter-argument, whilst refusing to study the subject matter (in this regard, Jones Jr.), is simply dumb?
How can YOU feel entitled to have an opinion on Jones Jr’s financial history, when you admit to not performing any research and not having any information?
Do you sincerely believe that YOUR assumptions, opinions and feelings trump everything else, even real-world historical events?

Why is everybody so worried about Roys money? Get your own money, or you don't have the ability to get any? Regardless of that Roy isn't going to share any of his with you so you fellows don't need to obsess about his.
