Hence why he's fights nobs of the internetgregregegg wrote: ↑05 Jun 2021, 18:40He would get smashed by any top welter (plus plenty of 140s and a few 135s). Old and inactive, his reflexes and timing will be trash now, and without that his style just wont work.Dioufy wrote: ↑05 Jun 2021, 18:20I’d fancy him over Ugas and Castano 100% and I’d personally still fancy him to outbox Charlo straightforwardly. 44 and hasnt fought for 4 years, which of those champs you think he beats easy werk?
Backing floyd vs spence and crawford is enough to rank you as strait disillusion...
Re: Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul | Exhibition - 6 June 2021
He gets 70 mil fighting knobs off the internet. I wonder how much Manny is getting fighting Spence jr?
I’m not saying that Floyd still retains all his skills of 7 years ago but he’s a freak, who keeps himself in shape, and it’s not unheard of for fighters in their 40s to still be world class.
I personally think he could hold his own against world class light welters/welters still but that’s just me.
But I understand why people would think the opposite.
I don’t think any view is straight up delusional.

FMJ barely survived Marcos Maidana 7 years ago. Your view “is straight up delusional.”

What a decline by Mayweather from May that year when he beat Canelo to September where all his skills went to shit, right?ironbeard wrote: ↑06 Jun 2021, 04:04Dioufy wrote: ↑06 Jun 2021, 03:49 He gets 70 mil fighting knobs off the internet. I wonder how much Manny is getting fighting Spence jr?

The Mayweather who beat Maidena, Berto and Pacman wouldn't start too much favoured over the top guys today .. add he is 44 and had 7 years out.
Even Pacman would bounce him from pillar to post now.

Cannot wait for Mayweather to obliterate Paul tonight and prove at 44 he’s still the best and beats every 126 to 175 on the planet.

Re: Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul | Exhibition - 6 June 2021
I may have got the dates reversed but the point remains that they were only 6 months between beating Canelo and his skills evaporating and scrapping past Maidana according to the above poster.
Which is bollocks.
And I’m sure there was a 2nd fight.
Re: Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul | Exhibition - 6 June 2021
FMJ fought Marcos Maidana twice in 2014 (May and September). He struggled mightily in both. In the opinions of a significant chunk of people, he lost the first fight, which gave him the excuse to waste another date dancing with Marcos rather than giving other young lions their shot.
Whether his gifts and skill set declined between September of 2013 and May of 2014 has nothing to do with this. Whether he has declined in the 7 years since a limited (though dangerous) Maidana fought him even is the question (which is obviously rhetorical)?
FMJ is fighting an 0-1 YouTube influencer rather than Spence or Crawford or Charlo or Josh Taylor because the YouTube influencer will not tear him to shreds the way the current rulers of 140-154 would.
End of....

Splotty got jobbed a fair few times away - he fought Virchis in Austria and got jobbed and he gave Helenius a boxing lesson in Helsinki and got jobbed there too! Just as well he didn't share a ring with Tua because he wouldn't have been the first St Kitts and Nevis (via Reading) person in outer space!
Re: Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul | Exhibition - 6 June 2021
A quite intriguing matchup. Our local TV will show it live, but I'm so excited, that I'll buy the PPV, even two of them! I think, the spectacular KO artist Mayweather will try to rough it up since the start and he'll jump on Paul with his heavy hands from the opening bell. However, Paul is known to be a sweet science master, who has lost only to KSI, so he'll be ready for the ferocious onslaught of Floyd "Manos de Piedra" Mayweather. Of course, Paul will give a lesson to Floyd, but with the pro-Mayweather conspiracy there will be no judges to confirm it officially. Anyway, truly knowledgeable boxing fans will see everything as it will be.

I did not watch the Maidana (I or II), Pac, and Berto fights live, and I have never watched any of them beginning to end.

Mayweather definitely lost to Castillo and in my opinion Oscar too. He's boring. The refs back him. There is little drama in his fights. I'm sick of the BS TBE undefeated claims. He's also not likeable. I cant remember s single Mayweather fight I've seen that I enjoyed once he moved up the weights. I switched off Canelo and Pac through sheer boredom and went back to bed. Not gonna happen but I would be glowing for days if a freak result saw Mayweather beaten. It might be his hair, but he looks a bit old suddenly.

I have always had Castillo until the last rewatching. However, I've never had Oscar winning. Mayweather had a one truly exciting affair later on, against Maidana I. The McGregor freakshow was a bit entertaining cat-and-mouse game. Overall, you're quite right. Mayweather is great, but overblown, majorly by himself. He was wisely tracked.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑06 Jun 2021, 09:35 Mayweather definitely lost to Castillo and in my opinion Oscar too. He's boring. The refs back him. There is little drama in his fights. I thought Mayweather won both Maidana fights clearly, although obviously the first one was fairly close, didn’t seem like Floyd took him seriously and underestimated him considerably, which he corrected in the rematch.
Re: Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul | Exhibition - 6 June 2021
That is the point. FMJ used the perception of the first fight to get one more win closer to 50 fighting Maidana, a relatively low risk, avoiding the authentic threats to his 0.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑06 Jun 2021, 09:47 I thought Mayweather won both Maidana fights clearly, although obviously the first one was fairly close, didn’t seem like Floyd took him seriously and underestimated him considerably, which he corrected in the rematch.
