The conspiracy that Floyd sparked Logan out, caught him, held him up covering his face so no one could tell and then when he came back they just continued Is my favourite nonsense of all time.

Its the same thing - chooses his man (obv Mayweather here). Talks about him only. Ignores every shot the other fighter lands. Is seemingly blind to reading a fight or noticing any swing of momentum or subtlety. Has zero insight. Vomits preprepared cliche after cliche.
Great to hear Barry Jones out him right so often including picking out shots that Paul actually landed. I so hope Sky Sports boxing ends. Get rid of all the Sky clowns. Smith doesn't even deserve the netball!
I don’t think that Adam Smith is incompetent, it’s just part of his job title to put a positive spin on Sky’s own fighters (or guys his employers will want to work with in the future).
I’m not saying I agree with it (I certainly don’t endorse such conduct), but it seems a tad unreasonable to single out Adam Smith, when media bias is commonplace.

Like I said before, I'm not challenging any of your criticism of Adam Smith's bias, but it's not unusual for broadcast teams to show favouritism towards their "own fighters".JamesPhilips wrote: ↑07 Jun 2021, 18:57Many many posters may disagreeEnlightened-One wrote: ↑07 Jun 2021, 17:57I can understand the reasons for you’ve cited for criticising Adam Smith, but to be perfectly honest, I’ve never watched a bout where the broadcasting team haven’t shown favouritism towards “their own man”.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑07 Jun 2021, 10:58 I said it earlier in this thread, but how incompetent and awful a commentator is Adam Smith? I'm sure many posters are aware of Adam Smith's bias.
And I'm equally confident that most of the same set of individuals would be capable of easily naming several other media guys that's behaved in the same manner.
I don't think I've said anything particularly controversial.

If this fight told us anything it's that Mayweather is ready to give Canelo another beating, make it happen!!
As a tune up Floyd can take on the other Paul brother in a twelve rounder on the Canelo-Floyd undercard.

One half of me thinks Floyd didn't take this fight seriously. The other half thinks this was orchistrated to goad Jake into a fight.
Re: Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul | Exhibition - June 6, 2021
He got paid a ton of money to spar 8 rounds with a novice, where's the mystery? The "fight" means nothing to Floyd, he just took the money. He'd be a fool not to do it, all reward and no risk.Impractical Poster wrote: ↑07 Jun 2021, 23:20 One half of me thinks Floyd didn't take this fight seriously. It's simply entertainment. In a good way, it puts more eyes on the sport of boxing. Whether good or bad, I'd rather watch something like this than WWE, which is much more dishonest as far as competition. Floyd is a smart businessman.

Sounded like you needed it. Or do you want to speculate further on whether Floyd took it seriously?Impractical Poster wrote: ↑08 Jun 2021, 08:13Thanks for the insight into Floyd's thinking Dr H.hhaehre wrote: ↑08 Jun 2021, 03:15He got paid a ton of money to spar 8 rounds with a novice, where's the mystery? It's laughable to read some of the comments. What is it that you guys don't understand??? Floyd once again gave the public the "illusion" about the danger of a guy 6" taller and 40lbs heavier, 10-15 yrs younger?, that "might" KO him. He is laughing all the way to the bank. Don't read into it more than it is..=entertainment for dumb novice fans.(and the even dumber Floyd haters!) "Pay to see me win, pay to see me lose, as long as you pay to see me".
Re: Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul | Exhibition - June 6, 2021
Apparently the word "exhibition" really confuses the sh*t outta people.Bandog wrote: ↑08 Jun 2021, 20:57 It's laughable to read some of the comments. What is it that you guys don't understand??? I have a very simple policy. I wouldn't watch Prime Ali vs Prime Tyson if it was billed as "An Exhibition"
Re: Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul | Exhibition - June 6, 2021
On the one hand, in hindsight, it’s completely acceptable that what was billed as an exhibition turned out to be just that.
I have to admit though that I thought Floyd would go for the KO, like he did in Japan, firstly to show the world reality stars can’t just jump into boxing and that there are levels, and also because he said pre fight that he would.
Had he said pre fight “I’m taking this as an 8 round spar with no intention of dropping the guy” it’d be hard to complain. But when he says “i could KO him early but I’ll save it for later and give the fans a performance for their money” it’s easy to justify the criticism.

Re: Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul | Exhibition - June 6, 2021
I’ll be honest. I think Floyd tried his best in the fight whilst understandably minimising the risk. He’s never gone balls to the wall for a KO, he’s always gone for safety and if it comes it comes

Floyd should be careful about how he flaunts his boxing status and not associate the whole sport with some of these outside antics.
As a celebrity I get how he rolls, good for him, it sells in that arena.
To the boxing community I think most would disapprove of the whole promotion and execution with Logan Paul, at least Connor McGregor was a tried and tested pro fighter of some sort and the bout and promotion turned out to be exciting and interesting.

Who next for Mayweather then?
Drederick Tatum?
Union Cane?
Hillary Clinton?

Size difference is interesting, but skill difference is insane. Logan might look good on pads, but Floyd reads opponents like a book. Could be entertaining though.
