I'm pretty psyched for this fight.
If the Argie brings it, it could be decent. There isn't much out there to study on Ponce. From the little I've seen, he seems OK.
From his record, it comes across like he has power, but that could also just be his level of opponent. He has gone rounds recently too.
So a basically unknown (to us) guy who seems to have power, and can go rounds, can stand and trade, and move.
Another South American upset in the UK
I dunno, but I'm keen to find out on the weekend...

Ritson is entertaining to watch. But your right, there isn't the contender vibe about him since moving up.
So after all these uncompetitive "A" side up and comers fights we have been subjected to so far this year, this one does at least have a question mark hanging over it.

Seen Matthew Hatton tweeting his guy Damian Chambo is Babic opponent for Sat night. (Spelling could be wrong) but he has the fight and chance for TV slot couldn’t be turned down.

Are there 2 more unfunny fighters than Joe Laws and Babic at the minute? Saw a video of them doing Geordie accents in hysterics when it was about as funny as a kick in the balls. It's like they've replaced Dave Allen as the chief Matchroom comedian.

I don’t mind Babic - at least he gives it a good go in the ring. Laws winds me because if you listen to him you’d think he was the next Ray Leonard whilst in reality he’s not actually much good.

I’m quite looking forward to the main event. The undercard not so much although I’m interested to see how good Pattinson is on his debut.

Ponce has been beating cans. He has an ok jab, but it is pretty slow at 140. He throws a lot of wide shots that leave him open. The only real question is how solid his chin is. If it is stone, he has somewhat of a chance. But, from what I have seen of him, Ritson should take this without much trouble.

Neither of these guys appear to be on the level of Matias, IMO.

I see what u mean mate, but Vasquez Was 33 that’s prime for some fighters it was lent like he was late 30s or the big 40.Then again age and “prime” are completely separate, how many fighters are finished by 25, and some getting started in the early 30s. What I mean to see was Vasquez physically is youngish and fresh because he ain’t take many beatings prior to that. Plus he wasn’t faded, it’s not like Vasquez was padding his record on cans before hand, or getting beat by novice pros , he beat maduma a year earlier and fought proper opposition. A lot of the time it’s about ur performance rather than ur results that determines ur level.

Haven’t seen too much of the arg but he looks straight forward classic style, not too much movement, neat technique easy to read, ritson will have success with that style is what I think

I think the Vasquez fight showed Ritsons level since stepping up in weight. He may have just had a bad night but was totally outboxed in my opinion. I know nothing of Ponce but as was mentioned if he’s tough and can take a shot then it could make it interesting.

I think the Vasquez fight showed Ritsons level since stepping up in weight. He may have just had a bad night but was totally outboxed in my opinion. I know nothing of Ponce but as was mentioned if he’s tough and can take a shot then it could make it interesting.

It’s hard to accurately depict his level, because he pasted everyone domestically but then lost every round almost in a euro fight, and was out boxed by a former world champ But got the decision.

Like I say he fought decent men at that level, the Belgian was a proper euro champ not some padded 20-0 can, it’s completely pot luck who u get for that title. I like ritson and think he’s euro level (despite not being in the fight with the Belgian) which to me is fringe world class.
