Teofimo Lopez vs. George Kambosos Jr. | DAZN - November 27, 2021
Re: Teofimo Lopez vs. George Kambosos Jr. - June 19, 2021
Teofimo Lopez is a 1/10 [-1000] fav today
Re: Teofimo Lopez vs. George Kambosos Jr. - June 19, 2021
The odds suggest to me that they don't consider Kambosos a threat in either the one punch stoppage win or the points decision.
Re: Teofimo Lopez vs. George Kambosos Jr. - June 19, 2021
The odds are bordering on worth the risk.
Teo should win, but he has had more distractions/attention than Kambosos. Lopez has done a lot more talking, mostly about what comes after Kambosos.
The Aussie is not a big puncher but he is tough, skilled, and proud.

The one thing Triller has in its favour is that they’ll retain a much higher % of revenue because they’ll also profit from the broadcasting side of it as they own Fite TV. Traditional linear TV PPVs give the TV networks a high % of the income (can be as high as 50% due to the amount of TV/social promotion they’d give it) so it’s in Triller’s favour that they’ll essentially keep that money.gregregegg wrote: ↑11 Jun 2021, 07:23 Triller is going to lose some proper cash here... Teo is going to expect to get payed this much going fowards to fight sub standard guys, that will get interesting. And kambosos might be the most average boxer ever to make millions of dollars in the lower weights, stoked for him to get paid but i dont think he wins a round (no matter how long it lasts).
I still think they’ll make a decent loss on this show though - will be interesting to see the volume of buys it does.

Interesting. I bought the Taylor fight, that was value for money.maverick23 wrote: ↑12 Jun 2021, 03:01The one thing Triller has in its favour is that they’ll retain a much higher % of revenue because they’ll also profit from the broadcasting side of it as they own Fite TV. This plainly isn't. And that's from a Furious George fan.
So no way will I pay for this. The undercard would have to be stellar, and it's not even close.

Yeah - the Taylor fight was the only thing I’ve ever bought on Fite TV and whilst I’d like to see this one there’s no way I’m going to buy it.KiwiRider wrote: ↑12 Jun 2021, 12:44Interesting. What gives these boxers and managers the nerve to suggest they are ppv? Ego and greed aside, who do they think they are fooling?

The boxers/managers didn’t make the call on this one. Lopez wanted more than the minimum in his contract with Too Rank for the fight so chose to go to purse bids where it could have been DAZN, ESPN or, as it was, Triller.KiwiRider wrote: ↑12 Jun 2021, 16:06I don't mind waiting for it to be posted on YouTube or something.maverick23 wrote: ↑12 Jun 2021, 12:51Yeah - the Taylor fight was the only thing I’ve ever bought on Fite TV and whilst I’d like to see this one there’s no way I’m going to buy it.

I don’t blame the fighters for this one - I just think Triller have over estimated the drawing power of the fight.

I blame the fighters and especially Teofimo. Why wouldn't they try to demand a better undercard instead of this joke? Because they don't give a sheet?

They are not into a place to demand, the promoter is already paying them double wages... if teo tried to kick up a stink whats he going to do? threatan to refuse to fight and give up 3.5 million? doubt it. If main event want a better undercards they would have to take a pay cut. (wouldent mind seeng teo give up 500k to get 3 mid levle 50-50s on the bill, but i dont expect him to do it).Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑12 Jun 2021, 16:43As long as he gets his money..H8Usernames wrote: ↑12 Jun 2021, 16:38 I blame the fighters and especially Teofimo. Re: Teofimo Lopez vs. George Kambosos Jr. - June 19, 2021
I imagine the only way a main-event fighter is going to care about the undercard is if he's on a percentage rather than a guaranteed purse.

Lets imagine Teo wins this one but it doesnt sell very well. So now Teo will be known as a ppv failure which will hurt his future earnings thereby losing him money. It would have served his interests to try to get a better undercard.

Teofimo Lopez has agreed to sign a revised contract with Top Rank a couple of days ago, which doesn't expire until 2023. The details of the contract extension haven't been disclosed, but it's alleged that his guaranteed minimum is significantly greater than the previous $1.25m amount.candyslim wrote: ↑14 Jun 2021, 03:37Yeah that is a good point.H8Usernames wrote: ↑13 Jun 2021, 04:30Lets imagine Teo wins this one but it doesnt sell very well. If he's negotiated a similar deal that his 135lbs rival (Vasyl Lomachenko) currently has with Top Rank, then his guarantee will be in the region of $3m per bout.
The commercial success or failure of the George Kambosos Jr. fight (as promoted by Triller), won't affect the financial terms of his newly-signed deal with Top Rank.
It's believed that Teofimo Lopez will resume working with Top Rank/ESPN+ for his next outing (a pay-per-view scheduled for the 2nd October).

Bit nervous with a high guarantee toprank contract. if teo can fight mid levle guys for 3-4 million a go then why would he fight a 50-50 type fight.
Just a side question for someone more knowledgeable in boxing business, If someone has a min garentee, what happens with purse bids... are they excluded in the contracts?
hypotheticaly if teo had a 3 million minimum, and toprank bid an amount that would result in teo only getting 2 million would they have to top his purse up? top both purses up to maintain the ratio? or does it not matter cause purse bids are outside of the minimums part of the contract...

Despite the terms of his minimum guarantee stipulation in his own contract with Top Rank, Vasyli Lomachenko has fought on fight cards staged by rival promoters (such as Matchroom), due to them winning purse bids.
However, he ended up receiving bigger purses than the sums he usually commanded when he appeared on Top Rank fight cards.
So my “guess” is that Top Rank would have to at least try to fulfil the terms of the guaranteed minimums, but if another promoter is willing to pay more, then so-be-it.
This means that Top Rank would need to submit a purse bid that was big enough to fulfil their contract with Lopez, regardless as to whether they got outbid or not.
That said, if Top Rank actively refrained from attempting to fulfil the terms of the guaranteed minimum, then they’re in breach of contract, with their fighter immediately becoming a free agent.
What I’ve written is based on assumptions though, because none of us will ever get to read the contract.

Charles Conwell says he’s ready to headline the Lopez-Kambosos undercard on June 19
Things come with time and with patience. Charles Conwell is getting there. It’s approaching two years now since the 2016 U.S. Olympian faced and beat Patrick Day in the tragic fight on Oct. 12, 2019 and Conwell has had three fights in the meantime, improving with each one.
This Saturday, Conwell (14-0, 11 knockouts) will be on the main undercard featured bout of the Teofimo Lopez-George Kambosos world lightweight championship fight from Miami’s loanDepot Park on Triller Fight Club via FITE mobile and Smart TV apps (12:30 p.m. PT/3:30 p.m. ET/).
Conwell, 23, will be taking on southpaw Mark ‘The Bazooka’ DeLuca (27-2, 15 KOs), of Whitman, MA, in a 10-round junior middleweight clash. Conwell has stopped his last four opponents inside the distance. DeLuca has only been stopped once in his 29-fight career, that coming against Kell Brook in seven in February 2020.
Conwell says he feels good and is on weight.
“I want to make a statement with this fight,” said Conwell, who will be fighting for the first time in six months. “I want to try and get in two more fights before the end of the year. I think people will see how much more comfortable I am in the ring. I want to show more of my arsenal.
“I want to show off all of my boxing skills. I want to work on everything. I want go in there and look flawless and that I’m the goods. I want to show everyone that I’m ready (for bigger steps ahead).
In his last fight, Conwell stopped Madiyar Ashkeyev in nine. Conwell, of Cleveland, OH, had the impression going in that Ashkeyev would be harder than he turned out to be.
When he watched a replay of the fight, Conwell realized when he got someone hurt, he needs to press the action more.
“That will come around with more time,” Conwell said. “Before the last fight, I wanted to improve the pace of my fights. I wanted to work on that in December against Ashkeyev. DeLuca has only been stopped once, so for to in and stop him, that would be a statement, too.
“My aim is a title shot early next year, after two good wins under my belt this year. I’m not looking ahead of anyone before DeLuca. This will be the first time I’ll be fighting in front of a crowd in two years. I want to be a better overall fighter and come out fast. In the past, I would feel a guy out, now I want to go right after them.”
Also featured on the undercard will be for The Ring womens’ super middleweight and undisputed 168-pound world championship between WBO/WBC titlist Franchon “The Heavy Hitting Diva” Crews-Dezurn, (7-1, 2 KOs) and WBA/IBF title holder Eril Cederroos, (8-0, 4 KO) over ten rounds. Cederroos is rated No. 1 by The Ring and Crews-Dezurn is No. 2. The winner brings home The Ring Magazine title belt.
Also on the undercard, a crossroad fight between middleweight division two-time world title challenger Willie “El Mongoose” Monroe Jr., (24-3, 6 KOs), of Rochester, NY against Juan “La Amenaza” De Angel, (22-13-1, 20 KOs), of Barranquilla, Colombia in a 10-round bout.
Monroe is currently riding a three-fight win streak.
Undefeated heavyweight Zhilel “Bang Bang” Zhang, (21-0-1, 17 KOs), of Zhouhou, China, battles upset-minded veteran Daniel “The Mountain” Martz, (20-9-1, 17 KOs), of Clarksburg, WV in a 10-rounder.
Promising 19-year-old junior welterweight Aaron “The Alien King” Aponte, (3-0, 1 KOs), will face fellow undefeated prospect Gerardo Contreras Gonzalez, (2-0, 1 KO), of San Diego, CA, in a four-rounder.
In a battle of junior middleweight southpaws, Ray “The New Ray” Robinson, (24-3-2, 12 KOs), of Philadelphia, PA, will face Ramal Amanov, (16-3, 5 KOs), of Ganja, Azerbaijan, in an eight-rounder.
Top featherweight prospect Haven Brady Jr., (2-0, 2 KOs), of Albany, GA, takes on Manuel “Gansito” Lara, (2-6), of Ciudad Victoria, Mexico, in a four-rounder, and undefeated junior middleweight Nikoloz Sekhniashvili, (7-0, 5 KOs), of Gori, Georgia (country), will see action in against an opponent to be determined in a scheduled six-rounder.
In a four-round welterweight bout, New York City’s Arnold Gonzalez, (6-0, 2 KOs) fights Gabriel Gutierrez, (7-9, 5 KOs), of El Paso, TX. In a 10-round WBA heavyweight title eliminator, Las Vegas’ Michael “The Bounty” Hunter II, (19-1-1, 3 KOs), will battle Michael “White Delight” Wilson, (21-1, 10 KOs), of Medford, OR. Hunter is currently ranked No. 7 by The Ring.

Wow, look how far down Willie Monroe Jr is on this fight card
Way, way down the card against a journeyman in a seeming warm up fight.
I thought he might have retired, because its been a while. He can't still have aspirations for a title?
He would make an excellent tier 2 gatekeeper.
