Josh Taylor is one great fighter. I believed in him when he beat Victor Postol despite only having 12 pro fights. He just steps up, finds a way during a crisis and improves for the next fight. That accelerated learning curve, which then saw him beat Baranczyk in another good fight, confirmed my belief.

Was really happy how he dealt with Prograis. Despite ppl now trying to spin it as a “controversial” victory, he continually took the fight away from the American, who looked relaxed, threw beautiful punches but couldn’t sustain the attacks. Taylor just finds ways to take it from opponents and if all other things are equal, he seems to want it more.

He has definite Calzaghe like qualities. Southpaw, adaptable, his hands, you notice, are quite a lot faster than his feet. He can put on a masterclass or he can do it with awkwardness as well.

As far as I,m concerned the win over Ramirez, in yet another battle, is further proof he’s the real deal. British fighters can get clipped by the battle hardened Mexican punchers - Burns, vs Beltran, Hodkinson, vs Vargas. Etc etc. You can’t compare him to the greats until his career is over but he’s heading in the right direction.
