Re: Frank Sanchez Vs Efe Ajagba 24th July
btw sanchez is yet another am with a totally inflated fake amateur record being claimed, he wasnt 214-6, and struggled just to get out of national level in cuba
even a partial record has 12 losses
https://boxrec.com/en/amateurboxer/814335
don curry is another one of the fakes, 404-4 is famously claimed but at least 9 losses on record just from a partial collection of his results. plus dudes who stay am their whole lives dont even get 400+ fights, let alone a guy who turned pro as a teenager

so ignorant, dont you know that every Cuban amature gets a 900-3 record by default, even if they never managed to make the olympics. Additionaly they are always to be referred to as "slick southpaws", even when fighting out of an orthadox stance.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑11 Jun 2021, 03:00 btw sanchez is yet another am with a totally inflated fake amateur record being claimed, he wasnt 214-6, and struggled just to get out of national level in cuba

the key to faking a record.......dont under report how many losses you have, instead, inflate your win column
because it's harder to prove wins didnt happen than it is to find losses that did happen

They walking around like he was Felix Savon... Who i dont actualy know much about, just saw he beat ortiz in the ams then noticed his boxrec ams record is exceptional, then noticed he had 3 golds and 6 world champships.....margaret thatcher wrote: ↑11 Jun 2021, 03:07ya, i 've seen people say that luis ortiz was a cuban amateur legendgregregegg wrote: ↑11 Jun 2021, 03:05so ignorant, dont you know that every Cuban amature gets a 900-3 record by default, even if they never managed to make the olympics. Sky Sports performed an interview with Frank Sanchez and they said his record was 214-6 (the PBC, The RING, World Boxing News and Boxing-Scene are quoting the same stats), but I agree, it obviously isn’t correct.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑11 Jun 2021, 03:00 btw sanchez is yet another am with a totally inflated fake amateur record being claimed, he wasnt 214-6, and struggled just to get out of national level in cuba

Re: Frank Sanchez Vs Efe Ajagba 24th July
This is true. I have been guilty where Ortiz was concerned. I saw his demolition of Bryant Jennings and put this together with his claimed 300+ amateur wins against a handful of losses, and I thought he was something special. It never occurred to me to check what his amateur accomplishments were, how for example, he did in the Olympics, until a couple of skeptics called bullsh*t.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑11 Jun 2021, 03:14nah seen it around a bit, a lot of ppl just automatically think any cuban mustve been a great amateur
This was five years ago that I awoke to the reality, and Bryant Jennings still remains his best win to this day. The only change being Jennings' stock has significantly declined to the point that beating him proves little other than you belong in the world top twenty, and that's probably all it meant back then only we didn't know it at the time. These days Ortiz's inflated reputation as a much ducked bogeyman of the division, owes a great deal to fans of Deontay Wilder who need to believe their man has beaten an elite level heavyweight.

Re: Frank Sanchez Vs Efe Ajagba 24th July
For amateur boxing records there is literally no point trying to judge people off there "record". even if you are 500-0 mabey you just fought the in some small regional compitions. To judge amateurs you have to just look at results that are a known quantity. olympic results and World champship results mainly.... Sure you can study a record for a week and figure out how good it is, but at a glance who fornicating knows..
all i know is I'll bet on the olympic medalist thats 90-17 over the guy that has never boxed olympics or world chaps that is supposedly 300-5 any day of the week.

Again, Lovejoy and De Mori are in completely a different class than Ajagba and Sanzchez when it comes to padded records.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑11 Jun 2021, 00:52Just because Sanchez and Ajagba are facing each other now, does that mean we're allowed to ignore real-world history? Prospects being mollycoddled might be “normal”, but it’s still a bad thing to do.
But now they're facing each other, isn't that exactly what they should do?
What would you rather they do other than fight each other?
Even Christopher Lovejoy and Mark De Mori took a step up in class at some point, does that mean they no longer possess obscenely padded resumes?
Ajagba vs. Sanchez is a great fight, winner has done enough to be in the top 10.

Re: Frank Sanchez Vs Efe Ajagba 24th July
Winner is not top 10 for me. Efe has the better resume of the 2 but has looked vulnerable until he gets the big shot. Frank looks technicaly better but is going plenty of rounds against C and D grade heavies. Id have em both fringe top 30 now, think the win will put them in the 15-25 range, not top 10. an absolute clinic might have the winner sniffing about near the top 15.SportsRatings wrote: ↑14 Jun 2021, 22:24Again, Lovejoy and De Mori are in completely a different class than Ajagba and Sanzchez when it comes to padded records.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑11 Jun 2021, 00:52Just because Sanchez and Ajagba are facing each other now, does that mean we're allowed to ignore real-world history? Re: Frank Sanchez Vs Efe Ajagba 24th July
I hope we get to see the winners of Anderson-Kereshkin and Ajagba-Sanchez facing each other in the near future.
There are too many protected prospects facing journeymen at the moment.
I can really see myself buying into the hype of the eventual victor of a super-six style heavyweight prospect tournament.
Imagine if we involved other fighters, such as Tony Yoka, Filip Hrgovic, Agit Kabayel, and Arslan Iallyev?

I hope not. Anderson is too young and inexperienced for that. He's still in the learning/developing stage.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑16 Jun 2021, 10:19 I hope we get to see the winners of Anderson-Kereshkin and Ajagba-Sanchez facing each other in the near future.

You may be right, but the calibre of opponents Anderson has been facing over the last couple of years is not too dissimilar than the likes of Ajagba, Sanchez, Hrgovic and Arslan Iallyev have fought.oogiebe wrote: ↑16 Jun 2021, 11:09I hope not. I think there's only so much experience can be gained treading water against journeymen.
Even if prospects are doing most of their learning/developing inside the gym, Jared Anderson has been sparring Tyson Fury. And you can't get a much better learning environment than that. The American has also been sparring Efe Ajagba.
Out of the fighters I've listed, perhaps Tony Yoka and Agit Kabayel are on another level (in terms of the names they've beaten). So perhaps we can exclude those.
Re: Frank Sanchez Vs Efe Ajagba 24th July
Agit Kabayel is crap ... Ajagba is build like a Gorilla, He will make to top 3-5 easily. Lot of people here don't know that he can take hard punch, That's why his instinct tells him march forward without much head movement, which of course needs to be fixed.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑16 Jun 2021, 11:49You may be right, but the calibre of opponents Anderson has been facing over the last couple of years is not too dissimilar than the likes of Ajagba, Sanchez, Hrgovic and Arslan Iallyev have fought.oogiebe wrote: ↑16 Jun 2021, 11:09I hope not. all of these promising guys outside the top five up to top 50 should fight each other like joyce & dubois did.
see who gets thru, if it's a good close fight - rematch.
in reality nobody is fighting anybody.
forever prospects cherrypicking obscure nonames with a fairly good looking (just by the numbers) record or beating up ancient shot to bits zombies who fifteen years ago had a recognisable name for a minute, saving the oh so precious 0 by all means, waiting for i seriously don't know what!
one day they all will realise they could've had a career
it"s just sad.
