Joyce needed to be moved quickly, hes now being moved slowly compared to most Olympic silver medalists

He’s got his number 1 ranking. I can potentially see another Dillian Whyte or Howard Eastman situation where he’s gonna have to wait years for his shot. The Usyk v a AJ winner won’t have a WBO mando for a long time.

He UD’d the guy that almost did it against Zhilei Zhang. But that win the scores were between 96-94 and 98-92.

Joyce would certainly have been excused an easier fight but at the same time Takam is old and hasn’t fought in a year.

he deserved 8 or 9 rounds vs forrest, only round he lost for me was late on when he was way ahead and coasting a bit. 96-94 was a poor score

even at his age he's a respectable opponent for sure, extremely experienced and pretty much always a hard work outing even for the guys who beat him

Unless takem has gotten old overnight its a decent opponent. Gave parker a close fight, AJ a tough night at short notice, Was beating chisora till he was chinned in the 8th, Beat jerry forrest comfortably who had recentley beat (unofficialy) franklin, and gave zhang hell....

infact there is a strong argument that Takem is top 20, If he is more or less as good as he was 1 year ago then i would back him as at least a 50-50 vs Ortiz, Povetkin, Pulev, helanious, kownaki, Efe, Bakoli, Wallin, Kabayal, Sanchez ect.

Takam would have been a perfect opponent pre Joyce for Dubois. Rather than the padded rubbish he mostly fought.

Is there any word on how this fight schedule will align with the Fury-Wilder III fight card?

I hope it's on regular BT, would be a nice lead in to the PPV..

No way they'd charge £19.95 for both cards together.

Frank will likely be in the States too.. Who the fvcks Joyce.

I think Frank will deffo combine both cards. It’ll be 24.99 for the pair. I’m going to be buying as I do want to see Wilder hopefully get smashed… plus there’s a decent fight in Helenius/Kownowski on the card.

Flipping hell it's been so long since I've been to a live boxing event that I didn't even notice that there are tickets available for this. Out some time next week apparently. So long as they're reasonably priced, I'm well up for getting some mates together to go and see this and then getting in to watch the Fury-Wilder card. There's also Ajagba Sanchez and Kownacki Helenius on the US card, so it would be a corking night of heavyweight action to enjoy, especially if you chuck in the possibility of being there for one of them.

I've never had trouble getting tickets for any Warren promoted show: it's always Matchroom stuff that's a nightmare to get tickets for. It's also a tick-over fight for Joyce, so you would hope even if we're all socially distanced Fwank wouldn't charge mental money for this. Like someone else said, he's not exactly going to be there is he? A sold out show is better for his pathetic rivalry with Hearn than pricing anybody who'd consider attending out so that you end up with an empty hall.

Well... I guess it's "take my money, Mr. Warren" night for me.

F*cking casual.

Fair enough. There’s still that lingering doubt with him having been a year out that if Joyce wins by KO he won’t get the credit he deserves.

I have to give him credit I think Sam Jones is managing Joyce’s career bloody well. Does a lot of his talking for him which increases his value. You could argue he manages him but also does more promotion for him than all of his previous promoters.

He reminds me a little bit of that weasel faced bloke that used to promote Joseph Parker, another gentle giant who wasn't really all that good in front of the camera. I forget his name: he didn't make an appearance for Chisora. But you started off thinking "is this the best bloke he could get for the job?" and then came to realise he was there to be the "knobhead" that got his fighter noticed, but also was thick skinned enough to take the flak, and ultimately fans warmed to him. And in that documentary they showed after the Dubois-Joyce fight you could see Jones did actually care about his fighter, and was with the Joyce family during and after the fight.

Better than Fish Eyes, who wasn't even sitting next to him at the press conference. I like Takam as a fight. He presents issues, and Joyce had a hard night with Jennings, another smaller but capable fighter. I think it's a decent match up. It's last chance saloon for Takam, so he should come with ambition. It doesn't matter if it's another hard fight. Good. It should be. He needs hard fights to keep learning. I hope Takam gives him some rounds and some different puzzles to solve.

David Higgins. Great laugh when he gets pissed (drunk) at a press conference. “Never dropped never stopped” on repeat.

Good fight. We should learn a thing or two about Joyce from this one. Takam is old, but very strong (was all over Chisora in spots), tough, usually in good shape, and has a neat enough defence to create problems.

I had Dubois up against Joyce…. Many close rounds so I could see it the other way. I just thought Joyce was lazy and could’ve easily lost that fight if Dubois’ eye lasted better.
I’d fancy Dubois in the rematch.
This is a decent fight though but it all depends on whether Takam has enough left.
I would’ve preferred Parker or Chisora if Warren has the cash.
