No way, he is making 2.5 million to fight for undisputed (kinda) with no rematch clause where the fornicate would they find enough cash to buy him out of that.

Throw in the fact that his opponent will be coming of covid giving him a glimmer of hope, it would cost millions and millions to buy him out of that.

Arum: Fury, Wilder Fully Vaccinated; No Reason Teofimo Shouldn't Have Been Vaccinated

“We tell all our fighters – you guys are fighting for big money and promoters are laying out big money,” Arum said. “Get yourself vaccinated, so you don’t [contract] the COVID. Now, you take the two fighters here, Fury is totally vaccinated. And I talked with [manager] Shelly Finkel a little while ago, and he said that Wilder’s been fully vaccinated. And their corners have been vaccinated. That’s taking responsibility.”

“Now Teofimo, you know, he was off with this Triller thing and so forth,” Arum said. “There was no reason why before he went into training that he didn’t get vaccinated. No reason! And if he had gotten vaccinated, he wouldn’t have lost his payday. So, I feel sorry for him, but the fight will happen.

“But again, this is different from when we first went into the bubble last June and we had every other fight with a guy getting COVID because nobody really knew how to handle it. But now, with the vaccination, anybody gets COVID, shame on them. Shame on them, because they hadn’t taken the time or they hadn’t, for some crazy reason, decided not to get vaccinated. That’s nuts!”

Rumor has it, Teo is fighting the scales and the PPV buys weren't looking good. Not sure I'm buying the positive covid test ATM. This really wasn't a PPV event to begin with.

Don’t most people buy the PPV last minute?

Mind you it was fight week. They didn’t even have a fight week presser either.

Teofimo Lopez v George Kambosos Jr Postponed For A THIRD Time

More bad news for Teofimo Lopez and George Kambosos, and for all of us fans who have been waiting to see lightweight champ Lopez’ next ring appearance. RingTV.com has reported how the Lopez-Kambosos Jr fight has been postponed yet again – for a third time. The fight, that will see Lopez defend against his IBF mandatory challenger Kamobsos Jr, was originally set for June 5, then it was postponed to August 14 due to Lopez, 16-0(12) testing positive for COVID-19.

And now it looks as though the fight will finally happen on September 11, on the Triller card that will feature Oscar De La Hoya’s ring comeback against MMA star Vitor Belfort – Lance Pugmire was the first to report the news. Kambosos Jr, also unbeaten, at 19-0(10) was livid when Lopez tested positive for the coronavirus, calling the IBF/WBA/WBO 135 pound champ “irresponsible.” Now, in light of the fight being delayed even further, Kambosos Jr is likely to be up in arms.

How these delays to the fight will affect both fighters will certainly prove interesting. Lopez shocked Vasiliy Lomachenko to win the lightweight titles back in October of last year, therefore he will have been out of action for almost a full year before boxing again. Kambosos Jr also last fought in October, when he defeated Lee Selby to become the IBF mandatory challenger. Will both men now be suffering from major ring-rust when the fight comes around?

Almost a full year wasted is of course not a good thing for any young fighter. A fighter’s prime can be painfully short and it’s possible Lopez and Kambosos would have got a second fight in here in 2021 had their fight gone off as originally scheduled. Also, we want to know just how good Lopez, and Kambosos Jr, really are. Was the close win Lopez scored over Loma something of a fluke?

Both fighters will now have to get their heads around the new date, take a short break and then start training all over again for September 11. Maybe they should dub this fight “Finally!”

Makes sense they'd put it on a card with the ODLH comeback considering DLHs drawing power. But really, 3 months?

They need to cover $6m on purses for the main event alone.. Also, ODLH and Belfort are gonna be sharing serious % of the PPV revenue. Well ODLH more than Belfort..

I think Triller will think twice in future about these purse bids.

All they've done is make Teo believe he's a big star and made his head bigger.

Pathetic. ODLH a promoter is gonna be the second starboxer in a row now to lose to a retired MMA fighter. Doesn't the fellow realize what he has to lose? And Vitor Belfort? Nobody even knows who this guy is really.

CASE IN POINT:

Teofimo Lopez (fighter)

box rec lightweight rankings in order and reason why they can't or aren't mandatory:

Tank: super feather weight belt
Loma: beat already
Haney: lightweight belt
Ryan: interim lightweight belt
Comey: beat already
Kambosos: MANDATORY

Hypothetically the bigger payday is against Tank, Haney, or Garcia, rather than Kambosos. How does this convoluted system work?
Rematch with Loma is also a big pay day as well, and agree with Garcia, Tank and Haney fights.

Triller wants to move Lopez vs Kambosos to Australia, Teofimo Lopez team says they’d vacate belt instead

Triller are attempting to once again move the date for the Teofimo Lopez vs George Kambosos Jr fight, and now they also intend on changing the location.

Mike Coppinger reports at ESPN that Triller want to push Lopez-Kambosos back to Oct. 17, and move the fight to Australia. Lopez’s team are not on board with the idea, and manager David McWater says if necessary, they’d vacate the IBF lightweight title — which Kambosos is mandatory challenger for — and move on with something else.

Lopez-Kambosos caused a stir when Triller over-bid by a significant amount to win rights to the fight, and basically nothing has gone right for them since, not with this fight or in general. The fight was originally scheduled for June 5, then June 19, then Lopez got COVID and it was moved to Aug. 14, which was recently quietly changed to Sept. 11 on the FITE schedule, and now they’re booking it for October, and hoping that moving it to Australia might help them recover at least some money.

Since the original purse bid, Lopez has re-upped with Top Rank, who had intended to bring him back to ESPN airwaves on PPV in October, which of course has also been delayed. Triller boss Ryan Kavanaugh took some pretty clear shots at Lopez for the COVID positive and further postponement, and says Lopez “should be bending over backwards to make this right for Kambosos, for us, and for all others who lost out due to (Lopez’s) irresponsibility.”

Kambosos on Teofimo Lopez: He’s Asthmatic…He's Going To Get Worse

Aussie lightweight George Kambosos Jr. does not believe a full recovery is in the cards for Teofimo Lopez Jr., due to the latter’s pre-existing health conditions and the wily nature of the novel coronavirus.

The two were set to face each other in a unification bout on June 19 at the LoanDepot Park in Miami that would have seen Lopez defend his WBO, WBA, and IBF lightweight titles. But four days before the fight, Lopez tested positive for the Covid-19 coronavirus, leaving Triller, the promoter and streaming service, no choice but scrap the entire card. The fight is reportedly taking place on Sept. 11., although there have been reports that it may be postponed again as the two sides are arguing over the date and location.

As frustrated as Kambosos (19-0, 10 KOs) has been with the latest postponement – he flew his pregnant wife over from Australia to attend the fight on June 19 – he believes he will have the upper hand from a physical standpoint when they finally swap punches.

“Everyday I’m getting better and better,” Kambosos told Fight Hype. “The thing with [Lopez], he’s got Covid. He’s an asthmatic as well. So he ain’t gonna get any better. He’s going to get worse. He’s in a worse situation. I’m in a great situation. No matter what, it doesn’t matter if the fight takes three months or four months, or a year, I’ll be ready.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, people with moderate-to-severe asthma are more likely to be hospitalized if they catch Covid-19. On that logic, Lopez (16-0, 12 KOs), a lifelong sufferer from asthma, could be at risk of developing other pulmonary complications and long-term symptoms, potential conditions to which Kambosos was alluding.

Kambosos, however, batted away the rumor that Lopez did not actually contract the virus. Of course, that's not to say that he isn't still irked that Lopez came down with it in the first place.

“It is what it is,” said Kambosos. “He got it. There are a lot of theories and a lot of people talking out of their a--, but he did get it. Now, him getting it is very immature [in terms of his] responsibility as an elite athlete. That’s what frustrates me.”

Lopez-Kambosos: Arum Has Plan In Place For ESPN To Air Fight If IBF Rules Triller Defaulted

Teofimo Lopez’s promoter has a contingency plan in place in the event Triller Fight Club doesn’t move forward with promoting and televising the Lopez-George Kambosos fight on pay-per-view.

Bob Arum informed BS.com that Top Rank has reserved an undisclosed date in September for ESPN to televise the Lopez-Kambosos bout if the IBF rules that Triller Fight Club has defaulted on its winning bid for their lightweight title fight. Triller Fight Club stunningly won a purse bid February 25 to earn the right to promote the 12-round, 135-pound championship bout between Las Vegas’ Lopez (16-0, 12 KOs) and Australia’s Kambosos (19-0, 10 KOs), the mandatory challenger for Lopez’s IBF lightweight title.

Triller Fight Club’s whopping winning bid was $6,018,000. Matchroom Boxing submitted the second-highest bid, which was $3,506,000.

Arum’s Top Rank offered the third-highest amount to promote Lopez-Kambosos ($2,315,000).

Two weeks ago, Patrick English, an attorney for Lopez, requested a resolution regarding Triller Fight Club’s winning bid. In paperwork submitted to the IBF on Lopez’s behalf, Lopez’s team asked the IBF to make Triller Fight Club reschedule the Kambosos bout by the end of September or declare that Triller defaulted on its winning bid.

“If the first bidder defaults, then it goes to the second bidder, and that’s Matchroom,” Arum told BS.com. “And they don’t have to do it. There’s no consequences for them passing. And then it’s up to us, if we wanna do it. And the answer is we most definitely wanna do it. We’ll do that fight in September. But again, we might not have the opportunity.

“One, the IBF may decide in favor of Triller and Triller makes everything right and does the fight on an appropriate date in the United States in September. A lot of things can happen. But as Teo’s promoter, besides signing a [new] contract with him, we’re obliged to do the fight if the other arrangements fall through.”

Triller Fight Club postponed Lopez-Kambosos in mid-May from June 5 to June 19 at loanDepot Park, the home stadium of Major League Baseball’s Miami Marlins. Their fight was postponed again June 15, the day Lopez tested positive for COVID-19.

Triller Fight Club announced June 15 that Lopez-Kambosos would be rescheduled for August 14. A venue was not secured, however, and nothing more regarding rescheduling Lopez-Kambosos for August 14 was officially announced.

Triller Fight Club later petitioned the IBF to allow the company to reschedule Lopez-Kambosos for October 17 at Bankwest Stadium in Sydney, Kambosos’ hometown. Lopez does not want to fight Kambosos in Australia primarily because COVID-19 restrictions in Australia would require him to be quarantined in a hotel room for two weeks, which would prohibit Lopez from preparing properly to box Kambosos.

Once Lopez tested positive for the coronavirus, Kambosos returned to Sydney. He remains there and would not be subjected to another two-week quarantine if his fight with Lopez were brought to Australia.

If the IBF determines Triller Fight Club defaulted on its bold bid, Lopez and Kambosos would be entitled to a 65-35 split of the $1,203,600 deposit Triller Fight Club was required to make after winning the purse bid. In addition, Lopez and Kambosos would divide either the bid made by Matchroom or Top Rank’s offer 65-35.

The IBF’s ruling regarding Lopez-Kambosos could come as soon as the end of next week.

Sydney is on covid lockdown now, that should be over mabey by October, but restrictions will remain, they won’t be having a full stadium full of people..

Triller don’t want to fight in syd, they want lopez to refuse so that they don’t have to pay there outrageous purse bid, and don’t lose a million dollar deposit.

Kambosas shittimg himself here, pay day might go from 2+ million, to just over 1. Plus just fornicating around for 6 months…

It’s still a good payday and he’ll get an extra c.$400k for his share of the Triller lost deposit.

I think Bob’s being very optimistic thinking that Matchroom will swerve it though if it moves down the bids.
