Lawrence Okolie vs. Dilan Prasovic - 25 September 2021
Okolie, Whyte Could Both See Action on August Card in United States
Lawrence Okolie has been penciled in to make the first defense on his WBO cruiserweight title in the United States in August on a show that could also feature Dillian Whyte.
Eddie Hearn is planning a show in California on August 28 and is planning to feature three boxers from the UK.
Okolie won the vacant WBO title in March when he knocked out Krzysztof Glowacki in six rounds at Wembley. He is likely to face the WBO’s mandatory contender, Dilan Prasovic, next, although Hearn says he wants to push him straight into a unification fight if he wins.
“Because he won a vacant title, he was immediately ordered to make a mandatory defense and then we want to fight Mairis Briedis (the IBF champion) in November/December.
“I want to get him all the belts as soon as possible and then move him on to heavyweight. He won’t stay at cruiserweight too long.
“So, after this mandatory, it will be (Ilunga) Makabu (the WBC champion) or Briedis next.”

This is a Trashhh mandatory. But at least its in august so okolie should very easily be able to fight again this year. If he wins a title, fights his mandatory and then defends his title again thats a good year (or unifies for a very great year).

So there is no card in the US in August is there?
Surprised he didn't make this for a fight camp.
Shouldn't be waiting too long for a defence.

I don't think there's much planned in the USA for Matchroom is there? They've got the Estrada/Gonzalez show they are trying to do mid-October but not aware of anything else.
4 weeks back, they planned a 21 Aug show in Mexico, 28 Aug show in the US, don't think either are happening.

Re: Lawrence Okolie vs. Dilan Prasovic - 25 September 2021
Hopefully Prasovic is a better Montenegrin than the geezer Radonjic who Hrgovic sweet aside last week, I very much doubt it though, Okolie should deal with him with ease, Im expecting a gross mismatch

Dislike mandatories I’ve never heard of.

Thin division and Prasovic is 27 on Boxrec ranking.
So much to ask for one good undercard matchup?

Re: Lawrence Okolie vs. Dilan Prasovic - 25 September 2021
Balkan unknown guys with dubious records are quite hard to sell as stepping stones for a rising prospect, let alone being mandatories... well, I hope I get to see Okolie pummeling people.

What’s about Hatton - Martinez?peter barlow wrote: ↑21 Sep 2021, 08:05 Thin division and Prasovic is 27 on Boxrec ranking.

The big question on the fans lips is whether Hatton will win unconvincingly on points whilst gassing in the second half of the fight?

Okolie: I Could Go Down as One of The Best Cruiserweights of All Time
"I could go down as one of the best cruiserweights of all time," Okolie told Sky Sports.
"Right now you've got the likes of Usyk who's boxing Anthony Joshua in the main event. You've got David Haye, Evander Holyfield and then the rest are very good fighters. But I feel like with unifications, I have the opportunity to stamp myself as one of the best cruiserweights ever.
"When I can say with my résumé that I'm one of the best cruiserweights, then I can start thinking about moving up."
